Any way to see which app sent text messages? Posted: 11 Sep 2016 12:40 PM PDT Apparently, in the last 3 months, my phone sent 42 text messages to a single number I don't recognize (63784845858585) And I got charged .26$ for each message.. At least that's what the mobile service rep told me, and he suggested that some application on the phone sent these messages. He had no solution for me, this month I apparently paid 8 USD for the pleasure of texting that number =/ So I'm keen on investigating it, some info: Phone: Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900F LTE OS: CyanogenMod 13.0-20160820 Text messaging app: Calls Blacklist - Call Blocker The text messaging app does not show any messages to this number, I hardly send text messages at all, maybe 3-4 a month. CyanogenMod comes with an app called 'Privacy Guard' for managing permissions, using Privacy Guard I can see which applications have permissions to to send text messages, but there's no easy way to see which application utilized that permission.. So I'm looking for a way to see which apps did send text message..any help is welcomed :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Sep 2016 06:04 AM PDT Hello to all people reading this post, I was an iPhone 5 user for about 3 years, but when the new Samsung Galaxy S7 edge came out, I realized that it will be my next phone. I've bought the S7 edge about a month ago; and I just love everything about it! Design, battery life, Android operating system... Everything is great! However, there is one point that I don't like. It is about the Snapchat application... I understand that it might not be related to Samsung or Android, but I would like to share my experience with Reddit users. Snapchat is not running smoothly. While using the application, the phone gets really hot and consumes a lot of battery (compared to other applications I use). Photo and video quality is awful. On my old iPhone 5 the quality was really better although its camera didn't have the specification that my Samsung phone has. I think I have one of the best phones in the market. It is updated to the latest version of Android. Also, my Snapchat application is always up to date. Why do such problems happen? Snapchat developers, I think you must really pay attention to all the bugs in your application and fix them as soon as possible. Just one more thing, I hate the idea about Instagram stories. However, I have to admit, that the quality of photos and videos there is really great. Oh, and I am not a Snapchat addict, but I would like to know the technical side of the Snapchat application issues on Android. Have a great day people and thank you for your time for reading my posts. I would be more than happy to get into your comments. [link] [comments] |
Help! Soft-bricked my Android! Posted: 11 Sep 2016 09:36 AM PDT So a while back I rooted my phone and turned off the FRP lock like I was supposed to, but then it unrooted and I had no more problems. Thinking that I didn't need to worry about it (this is months later, by the way), I turned off developer options and the OEM. My phone was having a few unrelated issues, and I thought maybe this would help. I restarted my phone, and got the error message "Custom binary blocked by FRP Lock", so I tried to flash 6.0.1 back on my phone with ODIN, but it seems like the FRP Lock is blocking that too. It doesn't get passed the NAND Start before failing. I REALLY don't want to factory reset my phone and lose all of my pictures/texts/etc., so what should I do now? Can I get T-Mobile or Samsung to help me somehow? I tried KIES too but for some reason the "Upgrade Firmware" button is grayed out. If I DO end up having to factory reset, how much data, if any, will I be able to recover? (Note: I'm an idiot and none of my phone is backed up anywhere, which is why I'm a little panicked about this and losing my data and such.) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Sep 2016 01:07 PM PDT I have tried many different procedures but when trying to flash a stock rom it says there was an error. Can anybody help, it would be much appreciated. (Virgin Mobile) [link] [comments] |
Is there an app or device that will allow someone to see what time zone my phone is in? Posted: 11 Sep 2016 09:45 AM PDT My job is going to keep me traveling around the US a LOT over the next few months and I would love to find a way for my GF to know what time zone my phone is in whenever she wants. I haven't been able to find anything helpful. Does something like this exist? Is there a simple enough DIY way to make something that will work? Is there another sub I should ask on? Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Google Now "Time to Leave" traffic alerts coming either late or not at all Posted: 11 Sep 2016 02:44 PM PDT The "Time to leave" alert seems to only consistently happen when I reach a particular point of I-695 in Baltimore County, which I go to maybe once a week. Today it went off 11 minutes before the event started, but it's supposed to alert me 15 before the leave time based on traffic. I remember several years ago when the traffic alerts would let me know when there was an accident on my route before I left home, but now I'm lucky if it tells me about the traffic I'd been sitting in for the past 6 minutes. These alerts haven't been working properly for maybe two years now, but I've noticed it only going off in that one location recently. I'm currently on my way to another calendar event that says I should leave in 4 minutes, but since I'm not near 6—and it just alerted me about 20 seconds after manually refreshing Google Now... This is really strange. Is anyone else experiencing unreliable traffic alerts such as this? [link] [comments] |

Need guidance on what to do with my Azpen A1020 Posted: 11 Sep 2016 10:50 AM PDT Hello, internet strangers! I've had the Azpen A1020 dual-core tablet for a while, but just right in this very moment, I had the brilliant idea to find a use for it, watch some movies on it, even browse the web... The problem is, though, it has only a single gigabyte of RAM and it's a pain to use, even after a factory reset. Plus, there's quite a bit of bloatware there, so I'd like to get rid of it. Now, I thought about flashing a custom ROM in there, but nobody on the internet acknowledges its existence (at least that was my feeling, when I googled the tablet's name for two minutes). I found a thread about rooting the A700, but that's all The Almighty Google has to say. So, what to do with it? Sell it? Sacrifice it to the gods of gadgets and hope for a reward? I have no idea. Maybe you do. TL;DR: have a shitty tablet with 1GB of RAM, lags a lot, want to find a new use for it. [link] [comments] |
Can't delete certain files/folders on SD card. (MM 6.0.1) Posted: 11 Sep 2016 12:19 PM PDT Galaxy S5 Stock, unrooted Marshmallow 6.0.1 I'm trying to delete some music files and folders on my SD card. I can use Solid Explorer to copy files over my LAN to my music folder. Once I copy, I can then delete those new files/folders off the SD. The problem is with older files and folders. Solid Explorer and the built-in My Files app both fail to delete, with no information explaining why. I'm guessing the problem is with any files and folders that were put on the SD over USB. 35GB would take too long over WIFI. [link] [comments] |
Alcatel One Touch constantly resetting Posted: 11 Sep 2016 12:18 PM PDT My friend has an alcetel one touch from metro PCS. It has ran into an issue though. It can't get past the start up screen. It just loads the "alcatel" start up screen and all that, then resets again and does it again. We have tried holding the power and volume up and factory resetting but that's not fixing it. We can't get past the start up so we can't do any other options. It could be the battery, but when it resets it does so until we hard power it off or the battery dies. But after charging it a bit and turning it on again it doesn't work. Also the battery can't be removed. Anyone know of a solution? The phone is out of warranty but it's not that old, maybe 6 months. No physical damage or anything. Thanks [link] [comments] |
Can't get any heads up notifications Posted: 11 Sep 2016 12:13 PM PDT On a Nexus 5, running 6.0.1 + gravity box (but haven't touched notification settings) No app is showing heads up notifications. I'm mainly aiming to get them working for
All of them show notification icons, but no app (including those 4) show heads up. Any idea what I can do/try? Peeking is enabled for all of them. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Sep 2016 12:01 PM PDT Nexus 5. Whenever I try and download anything it now fails. I can't download my CV and I can't download the new Pokemon APK. Is there any way to put apps completely on the SD card? Posted: 11 Sep 2016 08:50 AM PDT I've got an Xperia M4 Aqua 8GB and I constantly have issues with storage space. This isn't helped by the fact that when I try to move apps over to the SD card there's always at least some used on the phone. The worst offender is Facebook, of which 191MB is on the phone and only 70 is on the SD card. Is there anyway to completely move the apps over to the card? [link] [comments] |
Problems with my Samsung Galaxy S7 Posted: 11 Sep 2016 01:35 PM PDT Hi, so I'm finally posting to ask for some help with my phone. I will list and try to describe each problem below. I assume some issues may be connected with each other.

Would a ROM fix a faulty phone? Posted: 11 Sep 2016 03:33 PM PDT I'm looking into flashing a ROM out of self interest with all the hype on flashing ROMs as an android user but was also curious to ask this question. As I have a faulty Asus ZenFone 2 that works fine but very rarely reboots itself and has choppy performance than what it should have in gaming. TLDR: Would changing ROMs fix the issues with the phone or is it based on a hardware issue? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 11 Sep 2016 03:31 PM PDT I have a a galaxy s7 and for a while now I constantly get a message saying "please check your network connection and try again." Can't figure out why it's coming up and it doesn't cause any problems besides aggravating me with the messgae. Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it or why it's giving me this message? I'm on Verizon if that matters. Advice for using one plus 3 internationally Posted: 11 Sep 2016 09:04 AM PDT So I'm looking at getting a oneplus 3 (finally jumping ship from windows phone), but it's not available for sale in Australia so I was gonna get it online. My question is, would a factory unlocked international version work with an Australian prepaid sim, or are they region locked or something? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Disable notification while gaming? Posted: 11 Sep 2016 09:02 AM PDT How do I disable all notifications while gaming? Posted: 11 Sep 2016 02:23 PM PDT Alright folks, it's been years since I've been on android, and with the new iPhone 7 coming out with no headphone jack, I'm thinking about switching back. One thing I see that's always mentioned is that with Android, you can customize your phone to however you like, with tasker and all of these other cool apps. But one thing I haven't found, is even with rooting the phone, I haven't found a UI that I actually really like. Or, at least I haven't found a place where people compare their themes and stuff to give each other ideas. When I jailbreak my iPhone, I can change the individual icons, their spacing, and a whole wide rage of things to change how I want my phone to look like. Here's a quick example I found on /r/jailbreak https://i.reddituploads.com/481d3de8c2e94c488bc64de2816e001c?fit=max&h=1536&w=1536&s=3a9da54b0265e79fc1ccd4691cfa5cc2 From a quick google search, I can't seem to find anything saying if I can or not. Maybe I'm not searching for the right things? I'd just like to see what I can do with the android platform, whether its stock or rooted it doesn't matter. I'd most likely be getting a flagship phone, like the S7 edge if that matters. [link] [comments] |
[Help w/ Rooted Huawei P9 Lite] Ads and Popups relentless Posted: 11 Sep 2016 02:15 PM PDT I just got a Huawei P9 Lite this weekend. Went ahead with the whole unlocking the bootloader and rooting and the whole 9 yards. After installing all my apps and some modified APKS (maybe the culprit), I have been getting incessant ads and popups. After an exhaustive attempt at the following (list below), the ads still remain. I'd ideally prefer not to restore the phone's firmware, just because it's taken all weekend to set up again. Here's what I've tried so far: -AdAway -Ablock Plus -Using MVP's host file -Minminguard -AdGuard -Scanned for Malware/ adware with 360 security, AVG, Avast, Kaspersky -- all came back clear Is there ANYTHING reasonable left to do? Thanks so much for any help you guys may be able to provide! [link] [comments] |

Help finding a screenshot app. Posted: 11 Sep 2016 01:44 PM PDT I am looking for an app that can take many screenshots in a row (similar to what happens when you hold down the camera button and it takes a cluster of photos). If anybody knows of an app that does this please let me know ;) [link] [comments] |
