Google Now on tap should include a feature wherein we can scribble notes on the resulting screenshot

Posted: 08 Jun 2016 07:14 AM PDT

I know this is included in some Samsung phones, and I think it's a useful handy feature that should be included in stock Android and Now on tap seems to the best way to do it.

Google Photos app should include a feature to allow zooming when casting photos

Posted: 08 Jun 2016 08:29 AM PDT

The lacking feature when casting photos to TV screen via Google Photos app is, zooming in to the picture to see details. When pinched in and out on the photo on the phone while it is being cast, the photo zooms out and in on the phone, but not on the TV.

Zooming in and out works on TV when we mirror entire device screen (miracast) but not via Google Photos. This sucks because with Google Photos app we can choose to select what Photos can show on the TV without mirroring entire screen.

Why are people less willing to buy apps on phone, relative to other goods purchases?

Posted: 08 Jun 2016 12:52 PM PDT

Apps have transformed the way we work, communicate, and spend our free time. It's hard to imagine life before they came along, and even harder to believe they've only been around for a few years.

What exactly is it about apps that makes most people so unwilling to spend money? How can the same person who pay $4 every morning on a Starbucks coffee-to-go agonize over the decision to buy a 1$ app that will last them forever?

I live in Europe and most people I know never bought a single app , as a dev this is so frustrating to me because I think people don't appreciate devs work and think that paying for app is waste of money.

Did anyone see the Android question on Jeopardy last night?

Posted: 08 Jun 2016 05:01 AM PDT

It was asking what operating system released version 6.0, called Marshmallow, to its phones.

One contestant said iOS, and the second one said a variation of the word iOS. The third one didn't know.

It kind of put things into perspective for me.

[Google Maps] The new Street view navigation is amazing

Posted: 08 Jun 2016 12:48 PM PDT

First,I am on the beta channel. I just updated Maps on my Android phone. I wanted to see somewhere on street view when the app said to me to scroll along the the blue line.

I tested the scroll and find it so natural and it works flawlessly. A new approach for Street view and it's amazing!
