Sunday Rant/Rage (May 22 2016) - Your weekly complaint thread! Posted: 22 May 2016 04:02 AM PDT Note 1. Join our Discord, IRC, and Telegram chat-rooms! Please see our wiki for instructions. This weekly Sunday thread is for you to let off some steam and speak out about whatever complaint you might have about:
Rules 1) Please do not target any individuals or try to name/shame any individual. If you hate Google/Samsung/HTC etc. for one thing that is fine, but do not be rude to an individual app developer. 2) If you have a suggestion to solve another user's issue, please leave a comment but be sure it's constructive! We do not want any flame-wars. 3) Be respectful of other's opinions. Even if you feel that somebody is "wrong" you don't have to go out of your way to prove them wrong. Disagree politely, and move on. [link] [comments]

Why doesn't Google Play Music have a sleep timer? Posted: 21 May 2016 08:04 PM PDT I use GPM on both my iPhone and Android tablet and one thing I've always wondered is why the iPhone version has a sleep timer and the Android version doesn't. This seems like an obvious feature that should be included in all music players especially with the advent of podcasts. Just one more indication that Google treats its Android apps as second class citizens compared to their iOS counterparts. [link] [comments]

Rise of USB-C and VR lead to future Video-In support? Posted: 22 May 2016 05:06 AM PDT With the recent rise of interest in the VR community and major Android manufacturers adopting some form of a VR headset, do you think there will be a future possibility of tethering your phone to use as a video output for a VR ready computer? USB 3.1 allows for fast enough transfer speeds to move 4K+ video much like an HDMI cable as well as provide power to the phone. I feel it would boost the development of the VR scene. The phone doesn't even need to startup into the Android OS, there could be a special button or combination of existing buttons to enable a mirroring mode. [link] [comments]

Status of major loyalty programmes in UK Android Pay Posted: 22 May 2016 01:07 AM PDT Hi UK Android Pay users. Loving the ability to pay with my phone since last Wednesday! I'm not interested in talking about which banks are/aren't supported, but wanted to discuss the state of the major loyalty programmes in the UK (often these are the cards that clog up my wallet/keyring). I've found: Morrisons - displays barcode, but no branding. Waitrose - no barcode, no branding. Nectar - no barcode, no branding. Tesco - no barcode, no branding. Also, strangely, when I scan my card, the first 5 digits change from 63400 to 979... the rest of the number is the same. Boots - displays barcode, but no branding. Also, strangely, when I scan my card, it adds 5 digits to the end, that don't appear on the card. Subway - branding, but no barcode. KFC - branding, but no barcode. Anyone else seeing the same or different? Any others to add? [link] [comments]

Anyone switched from iPhone recently? Posted: 22 May 2016 11:09 AM PDT Currently with an iPhone 6 and wanted to give the Samsung S7 edge a try. Been with iPhone all the time and wanted to see what you might miss from iOS. Thank you! [link] [comments]

I'm very impressed with the HTC 10's battery life thus far! Posted: 22 May 2016 04:16 PM PDT This was after a 1 night camping trip with a good amount of signal at the camp as well as a portable Wi-Fi hotspot, the phone was off at night, but was heavily used for taking pictures during a hike, checking maps when driving around, and during down time (social media, editing photos in Google Photos, etc).
