Android Pay starting to work in Canada! Posted: 12 Dec 2016 07:30 AM PST I got an update to Android Pay, version 1.12.141346482, this morning and noticed it was showing all my cards as "Not Accepted" except one, a ScotiaBank SCENE Visa card. I tried adding the card and it showed me the Apple Pay terms (which isn't new, it had been doing that for a while now) but this time after accepting the conditions my card was successfully added. See here. I was still skeptical so I went and tried to pay with it and to my surprise, it worked! Transaction details EDIT: To get the app, install it from APKMirror. Then you'll be able to update it from the Play Store. Cards Reported working for now:
Not working:
EDIT 2: As of Dec. 12 6PM EST some users are reporting that adding a ScotiaBank Visa card gives an error message. They probably shut it down for now, waiting on an official release. [link] [comments]

Switched from S7 Edge to Google Pixel, Never Happier Posted: 12 Dec 2016 03:48 PM PST It's the little things. Just to be fair, I did really despise Samsung before all this. I was foolishly lured back by the S7 Edge. After having a disastrous experience with their TVs and a frustrating experience with their tablets, I just kinda hated Samsung to begin with. I took a chance on the Edge after reviews praised impressive battery life and no slowdowns. It's really the little things that make the Google Pixel awesome:
Everything just works. Anyways, just wanted to post this to say that my main gripe with the Nexus line was the weaker camera. After the Nexus 5 (not 5X), I felt like I couldn't go back, especially with some great vacations planned on the books. Now, it's just clear: The Google Pixel is the best Android phone we've seen yet, and it's not any one "slam dunk feature," but more that the overall package is the cleanest and most consistent phone I've experienced to date. Can't wait to see where Google goes next. [link] [comments]

What feature do you miss from an older phone you had? Posted: 11 Dec 2016 11:52 PM PST For me it's definitely front facing speakers. I had a budget HTC Desire 601 (stereo front facing) and now I have an LG G3 (mono rear facing). The jump from qHD to QHD was huge but what would be even better would be front facing speakers to go with that gorgeous screen. [link] [comments]

No Vulkan for M9 running Nougat. Posted: 12 Dec 2016 08:22 AM PST HTC Confirmed M9 does not support Vulkan. https://gyazo.com/32dc1fed2c2328d542c2a3e27af42d70 Khronos Groups say that the Chipset is supported and Qualcom says the same. This is so bull*****. Because the nexus 6P does support it and it also has a 810. Hell even the Nexus 6 from 2014 supports vulkan :/ [link] [comments]
Android Multi-window breaks Google Chrome Incognito mode Posted: 12 Dec 2016 02:49 AM PST I'm hoping someone can double check this for me, but I have been able to replicate the issue on both my Nexus 6 and LG V20 (both running Android 7.0)
Even after all incognito windows are closed manually, the notification to close incognito tabs remains active and tapping it appears to have no effect. The only way I have found to remove it is to completely restart the phone. Furthermore, it seems that cookies and other data from the incognito windows remain present until the phone is restarted (or if the issue is fixed any other way). I'm not sure if Google is aware of this, but hopefully it can be fixed with a Chrome update. [link] [comments] |
