Posted: 12 Sep 2016 05:05 AM PDT Hi, I created my first app because I wanted to discover Android development, and also because I couldn't find an existing app that could precisely answer my needs. With it you can get notified when an URL does not respond : when your Http server or device crashes or get disconnected from the internet, or when there is a power outage. You can also add a widget on your home screen to get a quick view of your server status. In both case your phone will periodically send a request to your server to check if it is offline. You can find it here : Server Offline Notifier I personally use it to get alerted when my home suffers a power outage (my freezer is full of good food and needs electricity !), but I think there is a lot of possible purposes. Suggestions and ideas are very welcomed. [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Sep 2016 04:45 PM PDT Hey everyone. My name is Drew. Yesterday I posted a short message here that if anyone wanted to send me app ideas, I would choose one to make for free. I didn't expect to get so many responses! I narrowed down the list of suggestions I got, but I still can't decide, so... here is the list, vote on your favorite 3! https://goo.gl/forms/Cohgux1AIwIYKPbz2 -Drew [link] [comments]
App That Allows Me To Apps Or Save Files To SD Card Posted: 12 Sep 2016 08:15 AM PDT I have an HP tablet that does not allow access to SD card. Why they even put a SD slot in the tablet is beyond me. Is there an app that would allow me to access the SD card? I'm using Android 5.1 Lollipop. [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Sep 2016 08:07 AM PDT I've seen lots of apps that allow a phone to be used as an input device but all of them seem to require server software on the PC. I understand why this is, but it seems like someone could make a USB Bluetooth dongle that could turn input from a phone into standard mouse/keyboard input that any computer could recognize. Does anyone know if such a thing exists? If not, will someone please steal my idea and put it into production? All I ask in return is a free copy of whatever software/hardware you develop. Posted: 11 Sep 2016 05:14 PM PDT I work retail, and my schedule is different every week. Not only is it different every week but I start work at different time throughout the week. I would love to be able to put my work schedule into google calendar and have my alarms set automatically based on when I work. What I'd really like is a bed time reminder, that says "Hey! You have to work at XX time tomorrow and in order to get x hours of sleep you need to go to bed." Most every alarm app I have used has repeating alarms with bed time reminders, but none really support a non-set schedule. Is there anything like this available for us poor souls who have crazy schedules. Or even a way to programs something like this using Tasker or a combination of apps together? [link] [comments]
Why can I download some photos from the google Drive app, but not others? Posted: 11 Sep 2016 06:28 PM PDT I was going through the photos backed up on my google drive. I was trying to download a few that I didn't have on my phone anymore, but I'm not seeing the option to do so. I found it weird and thought it was because maybe I was trying to download too many at once, but this proved not to be the case. It is weird, because I can download some of the photos stored there, but not others and I can't find a rhyme or reason as to why I can't. Any idea what may be happening? [link] [comments]
Posted: 12 Sep 2016 09:47 AM PDT Flamingo is a great Twitter app. I was using this for my daily Twitter and Tweetings for real time push notifications, but lately push notifications for Tweetings have been hit or miss, sometimes they come through and sometimes they don't, not idea why. So what I am curious about, for those who use Flamingo, what type of notification settings are you guys using? How is the battery drain with notifications and Flamingo? Thanks! [link] [comments]
[dEV] Unbox - A Simple brain game with beautiful pixel graphics and nice polish. Posted: 12 Sep 2016 09:46 AM PDT Hey! Unbox is a simple short-term memory testing game that you can play on the go. Every round, numbers show up for a few seconds. Your goal is to memorize the numeric order and tap the boxes accordingly. Try and see how many rounds you can last! Very simple, but it can be quite competitive. The game is very polished with nice pixel art and satisfying sound effects. There are over 75 skins to collect! The game does have in game ads once in a while. See how good you are:
This game was made by myself, a college student at the university of Toronto. [link] [comments]

Posted: 11 Sep 2016 12:53 PM PDT I'm coming over to android from Windows Phone 8 and since the youtube app for WP was just a crummy web container I utilized MyTube. Let me tell you kids, MyTube was the killer app for YouTube on WP because it featured background audio and audio only play, it had a separate view history for the app and website, video downloads for contained use in the app (I could do without this) and the developer was really responsive when recieving user input and kept the users informed with a regular changelog. Back when I had Android 4 before my WP, I utilized the pro version of Viral, but it got pulled from the Play Store (I guess Google didn't want any YT Red competitors on its market) and recently when I got an apk it would crash randomly. Is there something out there like MyTube? I guess the pop up feature from viral would be nice too. [link] [comments]

Looking for a free audiobook app that syncs between devices Posted: 12 Sep 2016 03:56 AM PDT Hello, I recently started to listen to audiobooks, and I was wondering if there is an audiobook app that allows you to upload your own audiobooks and syncs between devices, since I like to use my nexus 7 when I'm home and my phone when I'm commuting. By syncing I mean remembering where I'm at in the book I am listening to at the moment. A snooze function would be welcome as well, but I think most apps include this functionality anyway. Thanks [link] [comments]

App to Quickly enter in tabular data Posted: 11 Sep 2016 05:30 PM PDT I need to enter in rows into a table. I can use Google Sheets but it's really poor experience on mobile. I would rather have a form to fill out for each row. Any app that will let me do that? [link] [comments]
