Looking for help with modding a Nexus 7 tablet. Posted: 18 Sep 2016 07:27 PM PDT My roommate and I are attempting to modify our tablet to essentially work as a 'remote' for our chromecast. We wanted to do something along the lines of; on startup netflix is automatically opened, swipe right to open youtube, swipe again for another app, etc. and the last one would be settings. The home screen would not be accessible in any way. The device is rooted if that helps anything. I am familiar with coding and the roommate has some experience as well. I was hoping if anyone could give some sort of guidance in how we can go about this topic. Any response is appreciated! Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
I want to breathe life into a proof of concept I wrote five years ago Posted: 18 Sep 2016 02:57 PM PDT But I don't have the time (or the up to date experience) to do it myself. I'm about to launch a design project to actually get some design into the thing but I'm looking for either equity or effort partners (in exchange for equity or just cash) to bring the thing up to scratch. Is this the right subreddit to post more details ? Am looking for just one individual to work with (as I'm a dev myself I know how much work is needed - and that's more than I can give it considering the day job, family etc). [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 Sep 2016 06:42 AM PDT Hi, I am about to release my first independent android app shortly. It is a music player and I have worked a lot on this one. Right now I am reading about adding ads in my app. I went through udacity's ad-mob tutorial and the integration looks easy. I would like to hear suggestions from other people, developers or not regarding adding ads. What are the DOs and DONTs? This is something I have never done. I also hear people getting banned by ad-mob. Not sure why that happens and how I can ensure that doesn't happen to me. Any useful suggestion that comes to your mind is welcome. Thanks !!! Android Server - What can I do? Posted: 18 Sep 2016 08:20 AM PDT I have a project this term at school in which we are tasked with creating an Android application. For our idea we will need a small server of some-sort to dispatch messages to devices. It will not have to be extremely large. A while back I programmed a Server for Android devices in Java that worked pretty well. The phones just connected to the server via a socket connection and messages were sent and dispatched by the server using the Reactor design pattern. The server I described above worked pretty well - I just used it to program a networked tic-tac-toe game - so not a very big application but I think it will scale well. My question is; what do others who are more experienced with Android do for their servers? Is the server I described above a suitable server for a mid-sized application? What frameworks are available? [link] [comments] |
Quick question - How to use promo codes Posted: 18 Sep 2016 06:05 AM PDT I developed a close up magic android app and I want to give promos out to gain feedback from people willing to give me feedback. I created the promo. Is the actual promo code the name of the promo or the six digit number to the right of the name in the Google Play Developer Studio? Thank you in advance [link] [comments] |
Can anyone tell me what i need to make a parental control app? Posted: 18 Sep 2016 08:11 AM PDT Hello everyone, I have learn ionic2 and built an app with this framework. Seeking Advice: Code handover for new Developer Posted: 18 Sep 2016 11:11 AM PDT I am fielding developers to finish a project that is roughly 85% complete. Naturally, in order to receive an accurate quote every candidate is asking to review the current source code. What are some best practices that can prevent the developers from stealing the source code? (Besides an NDA) [link] [comments] |
