Why does android studio close the app during debug after stack frame ends? Posted: 04 Sep 2016 04:10 PM PDT So for example, I place a breakpoint in the method called after a button click. Once it reaches that breakpoint and I step out until the stack frame closes, Android Studio closes the app. This only allows me to reach the breakpoint once, during debugging. How do I stop Android Studio from doing this? I tried using a different emulator and the result is still the same. I'm using Android Studio on OSX btw. [link] [comments] |
Jumping from AP comp sci to Android dev Posted: 04 Sep 2016 01:18 PM PDT Hey guys! I don't know if you get questions like this a lot, but I took AP comp sci two years ago and have dabbled in Java since then. However, I feel like there's a serious gap in material from end-of-AP-Java to actually able to develop an Android app. Are there any materials for bridging that gap? I'm not looking for a "how to code for the first time" type resource but something that will allow me to go from solid beginner to actual developer. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

How do I know which APK Android Studio has deployed to the device? Posted: 04 Sep 2016 02:08 PM PDT I'm working on an open-source project that I'm not extremely familiar with. I had been used to deploying the APK manually using adb, where I could send any of the APKs like -dev and so forth myself. When using Android Studio, how do you know (and also set) which one has been deployed? [link] [comments] |

I have learned quite a bit of java(only java), is it time to start with Android? Posted: 04 Sep 2016 04:32 AM PDT I started learning java with motive of Android development. I have become well versed with variables, functions, loops, objects etc. Should I start with Android development? What else do I need to learn and do I really need to learn Java to the core or are the basics enough? [link] [comments] |
