Any app that can lower headphone minimum volume? Posted: 23 May 2016 12:34 PM PDT I really like the new Bluetooth headphones I just got but they are so loud even on the lowest volume that I cannot use them. I've been searching Google play for an app to lower volume but all I can find are apps that raise volume. I have found 1 app that works called "Fine Volume Control V2" but the app hasn't been updated in 3 years and I think it only works because it's glitching out of sync. I say this because when I lower or raise the volume to its max/min the phone forgets the apps settings which can really hurt my ears. Whats worse is when I recieve a Call and hang up it forgets the settings also which again results in pain. Is there any other apps anyone knows about? Edit: one thing I just tried, I went into the phones equalizer and just lowered all frequencies. It did get softer but tbh I cant tell if the audio fidelity was affected. Its also still just a tiny bit too loud for extended listening [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 May 2016 09:25 AM PDT I have just come back to android after a 4 year iPhone hiatus. I've got myself a S7 edge and put in a 64GB SD card. The SD card seems to work fine until I try and download music to it from Google Play Music, it gets to 1-2% and then the phone reports the card is corrupt and cannot be used. It cant even format it. I returned the card and got a replacement which did the same thing. With the card in a corrupted state I put it in to my Windows PC (which reports it corrupted), deleted the partition and recreated it. Used both iometer and ht2testw to fill the card to its limit and test IO on it, which did not fail. I've then put it back in the phone and tried to download music and it corrupts again. Next I've put it back in Windows and fixed the partition, put it back in the phone and got the phone to re-format it and tried again - corrupt again. I've fixed the partition, signed up to a spotify account and filled the card with as much music as it would hold - this works! As does every other app - camera, podcasts, copying games to run from the SD card. Its only when Play Music tries to right to it. Has anyone seen this before? Is it a known issue? Any ideas for a fix? [link] [comments] |
How to calibrate adaptive brightness? Posted: 23 May 2016 12:27 PM PDT Hi, I'm running Android 6.0.1 through the Exodus ROM on my OnePlus 2. It's a great ROM, but the screen brightness is too high. I have adaptive brightness enabled, but I constantly have to disable it and manually turn down the brightness. I know that iPhones auto-calibrate the brightness if you have adaptive brightness enabled and then manually adjust brightness to your liking, is there something similar in Android? Sd card: Get an extreme or ultra is enough? Q Posted: 23 May 2016 09:11 AM PDT Hey guys I plan to encrypt my external sd card and I like to record videos, usually 1080 60 fps. Do you think a SanDisk ultra will do or do I need the extreme? Any way to find out before buying? I can't find a review or benchmark that specific. Anyone here with encrypted sd card could give a report? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Google Messenger Contacts - auto-suggest even though not synced on exchange Posted: 23 May 2016 10:46 AM PDT Moto X Pure 2015. Android 6.0. Verizon I have 2 accounts in Gmail. My personal Gmail account and work Exchange account. I only sync my work email and calendar. I've recently seen, over the last 2 weeks, the work contacts getting suggested when I type a new message. This is across messenger and gmail. I have a ton of work contacts so this gets very frustrating. I end up having to type a person's full name and first initial of last name. [link] [comments] |

Can't turn off priority mode because my volume buttons are broken. Posted: 23 May 2016 09:32 AM PDT So when i took apart my OnePlus One to replace my broken screen I accidentally broke the cable that leads to the volume controls. When i plugged my headphones in yesterday the volume sliders popped up and put my device into priority mode for some reason. So right now it never vibrates whenever i get a message or a call. Is it possible to disable the priority mode in the settings menu without having to use my volume controls? Right now I am running Android 6.0.1. I hope someone has a solution to my problem, Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Looking for a Podcast app that is installable on storage card Posted: 23 May 2016 01:07 PM PDT I'm using a phone with very limited internal memory, but (as well as my external sdcard) it has what it calls an "internal sd card" with another 2GB. I'm looking for a podcast app which can be moved off the phone memory and onto this internal storage. Every app I've tried so far (Podcast Republic, Podcast addict, Podbean etc.) will only install to the phone memory. [link] [comments] |
How do you change the notification sound from the youtube app? Posted: 23 May 2016 09:19 AM PDT I want to change it to something else than my default message sound. Preferably without using secondary apps. Inside the app itself, the only options for notification sound is to disable or enable it completely. I have search around quite a bit, but haven't been able to find anything about the subject. It doesn't help that they keywords "change notification sound youtube android" triggers a lot of youtube videos about changing other apps notification sounds. The only actual post I have found, is a reddit post with 0 answers from a year ago. Do anyone know if it is possible at all? Youtube version 11.16.62 Using a Xperia Z3 Compact, version 23.5.A.0.575, Android 6.0.1. [link] [comments] |
[Automate] Start Automate from Trigger Posted: 23 May 2016 12:08 PM PDT I'm trying to trigger an Automate (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.llamalab.automate) Flow using Trigger (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jwsoft.nfcactionlauncher). Trigger has the ability to externally access Tasker, but doesn't show up in the Automate Tasker plug-ins. It can however start URIs which I think is the way to go about this. So can anyone hint me at how to construct a URI to start one of my automate flows or has another solution on how to start a Flow from Trigger? [link] [comments] |

Too many pinned notifications! Posted: 23 May 2016 01:56 PM PDT I have an issue with pinned notifications. Here is a screenshot. I am fine with the spotify one. But tasker, pebble, and the two android system notifications is really annoying. I cannot close them out. I know I can stop them from creating a notification, but will that break anything? clarificationI am on a unrooted android lollipop. I was thinking of a way to make the notification a low priority. So other notifications show over them. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 May 2016 03:53 AM PDT I have a S4 mini, getting close to 3 years. I have CM13, using the snapshot. The phone has been fine but yesterday it suddenly started having the 'this app has closed' messages constantly, so I restarted it. I left it and didn't check it till last night, and it doesn't boot. The phone gets stuck on the Samsung logo, though recovery and download mode still work. Going into recovery shows that I have 'no OS' and internal storage: 0 mb. I can't mount the internal storage to install anything because it claims I have none. Wipe/format do nothing, just 'failed'. Anything I can do about this? [link] [comments] |
Contracted a possible virus, what is my course of action? Posted: 23 May 2016 04:46 AM PDT Today I was browsing the fextralife wiki for darksouls and while the page was loading my internet browser popped up with a message saying from 4 visits to adult sites (I have only ever used 3 sites on my current phone: fextralife, Jpopasia lyric website and my city's public transport website). The messaged named the virus as gpfree0002.pw and that my device was 28% unsafe and to install an app (was spelt with all caps as APP) that it didn't name from the play store and provided a link, that I didn't click. Instead I scanned with malwarebytes and it said my phone was safe. I am using a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and was using the standard android internet app when this occured. Did I do the right thing or is my phone at risk still? Quick edit: I have not installed any apps from outside of the play store and have not installed any apps at all in the last 3 days before this incident occured. Sorry for large amount of text. Bluetooth keyboard compatibility with Facebook Messenger Posted: 23 May 2016 08:14 AM PDT I recently bought the K480 Logitech keyboard to use with my tablet and phone, and it works great except that the enter button does not send messages within the facebook messenger app. Is there a short-key I don't know about for this? Or any other work around? Thanks [link] [comments] |
Changing sound profile after a phone call Posted: 23 May 2016 01:09 PM PDT I have an HTC One (M9 if I'm not mistaken), AT&T service. I usually keep my phone on vibrate; however, I've noticed that, since the most recent update, my phone will unexpectedly be on full volume. I believe I have figured out the trigger for this: it seems to switch to full volume every time I finish a phone call. Usually this isn't a big deal; I'm just momentarily surprised when it starts making noise. But if this happened while I was in class or teaching or something it could be a bit embarrassing. Anyone know why this happens, and how I can turn this feature off? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Recommended apps that monitor battery drain Posted: 23 May 2016 07:32 AM PDT I've noticed a recent significant batter drain while the screen is off and I can't narrow it down to a signal app. Does anyone recommend an app to monitor this? I have an LG V10 if it matters [link] [comments] |
How to make volume buttons media only? Posted: 23 May 2016 06:35 AM PDT I have a SGAlpha European version. I don't like that the volume buttons are set to ring tone only. To adjust notification/media/alarm volume, I have to go into another menu, which bugs me constantly. I've tried "Volume Locker" (an app) but it did not solve my problem. iOS does have a setting to lock ring/notification volume, and asign volume buttons to media only. It's that functionality I'm looking for. [link] [comments] |
Constant crash notification (bluetooth) Posted: 23 May 2016 03:05 PM PDT I recently rooted my BLU studio x plus phone. I deleted Bluetooth LE thinking it was malware automatically installed by one of the apps that I installed (some of them ended up being sketchy). Now when i boot my phone I get a notification that bluetooth has stopped working. As soon as i click 'ok' another pops up to tell me the same thing. I can't get it to go away and i can't find any information on bluetooth that doesn't involve pairing. I've tried both hard and soft resetting of my phone. Please help. My question(s): How do I make the constant notifications stop? Does my phone need bluetooth to actually work? i don't really use it. Is there a way to reinstall system apps? [link] [comments] |

Should I buy the Huawei P8 Lite? Posted: 23 May 2016 10:59 AM PDT 155 euros here in Greece - only thing worrying me is the very unconsistent SAR Rating findings I've got (others say 0.33w/kg head , 0.369w/kg body , others diff).
