T-mobile MMS slowing down phone. Posted: 15 Dec 2016 02:07 PM PST Every time I get a group message or picture my phone automatically disconnects from wifi to download it, which is apparently because of some problem with T-Mobile and Android. On top of that, even on or off of wifi literally every time I get an mms my phone goes to turtle speed and I can't even type out a text properly because it's moving so slow. Sorry for the rant, I'm at my wit's end over this so this is my last resort because I use my phone constantly for work and I fucking loathe Apple after the amount of problems I had with the iPhone 6 so it's either I fix this or I go buy an iPhone 5 off of Craigslist because at least I never had problems with that phone. Play Music constantly downloading playlist issur Posted: 15 Dec 2016 03:04 PM PST http://i.imgur.com/TZ92rBs.jpg Whenever I open the music app, it begins to download music in the thumbs up playlist. Not sure if this is something I can turn off but it had only started happening recently and fairly annoying. I have the setting turned on for the playlist to be available offline so whenever I thumbs up a song it downloads. But this download notification appears regardless of whether I add new music and like I mentioned earlier this download notification is fairly recent. Not sure what to do. Anyone else experience the issue? [link] [comments] |
Can someone please post screenshots of their Note 5 being hard-wired for samsung smart switch? Posted: 15 Dec 2016 02:38 PM PST My digitizer is still functioning but the LED is out (really unsure of technical terms here) so I am able to make the phone function, but I don't see anything. I have important stuff on there that wasn't synced to google (WHYYYY) and now that I have my Note5 insurance claim replacement I want to try and move everything with a hardwired connection using the micro usb converter they send you in the box for smart switch. I need screenshots of the whole process so I can blindly select what I need TL;DR I need step by step screenshots on a Note 5 for the hardwire samsung smart switch mobile process. [link] [comments] |
How do I let calls through on Do Not Disturb? Posted: 15 Dec 2016 01:04 PM PST I have Do Not Disturb on, because apparently making a "silent" mode is stupid. But I want calls to buzz. I allow "all calls" to come through on Do Not Disturb, but that doesn't work. Or can I set it to vibrate mode but only calls creates a vibration? Why is this so difficult? Or, even better, if I have my watch on can it just buzz that? [link] [comments] |
Now Launcher search bar lower? Posted: 15 Dec 2016 01:29 PM PST So I'm using the now launcher and the search bar used to be up higher but now it seems to have moved slightly lower? It's obviously not a real issue, but I was wondering if this is common because it's ever so slightly annoying. I recently did a factory reset and it was normal for a while, but then I just realized it moved back down. I'll post a link to a screenshot in the comments. Again I know this is a dumb "issue" but still. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Dec 2016 01:17 PM PST I've been trying to find a way to put a widget/app that will play a playlist/song with one click but surprisingly this proved to be more difficult than I thought. Google play has a playlist widget but after selecting a playlist, the widget opens the google music app and takes you to the playlist. -__- The only viable option I've found so far was to use IFTTT to create a do button that will play a specify song via the google music app, however the IFTTT widget icon is so so so ugly. It clashes with the rest of my min icons. Does anyone have any suggestions? [link] [comments] |
Google Chrome randomly changes to French Posted: 15 Dec 2016 01:10 PM PST Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help. Randomly chrome on my Samsung S7 running 6.0.1 seems to turn French. When I use chrome and use the address box to search sometimes the website (whether it's Google search results, YouTube, Microsoft) comes up in french. Sometimes it doesn't. It's pretty random. I've searched through my settings (language etc) and can't find anything unusual. Does anyone have any ideas. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Wanting to switch but I have a few concerns Posted: 15 Dec 2016 01:00 PM PST Hey reddit, I've been an Iphone user for 7 years now but I am getting pretty sick of Iphones for several reasons and Im sort of just looking for a change. I am considering getting myself a galaxy s7 edge but I have a few concerns. My main concern comes with Imessage and Group Messages. Almost everyone I know has an Iphone and I am in several group messages with iphone users. My concern is that if I switch I wont be able to be in these group messages or at the very least I'll have to remake all of them in some other third party app. I was wondering if my concern is valid and what I would need to do in order to keep these group messages. Thanks in advance this is really the only thing holding me back from making the switch but it is a very large issue for me. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Dec 2016 11:03 AM PST I wanted to get a better texting app than the default. ChompSMS fits all the things i want with a texting app but there's a major problem with the app, it wont send SMS. Other 3rd party texting apps send sms just fine, but chomp wont. It will send and receive MMS, and will receive SMS but cant send SMS. I have tried reinstalling app and restarting phone. I also tried sending a SMS to myself and it worked. Any ideas on what i could do to make it work? Phone: LG G5 Carrier: Sprint OS: Android 7.0 with default UI [link] [comments] |
Location Faking Apps With Whitelist Posted: 15 Dec 2016 02:04 PM PST So I have this app that does the location faking pretty well and I've seen loads like it on the play store, but I was wondering if anyone knows one where I can white list certain apps that can know my real location? Or alternatively only fake it for some apps only? Thanks for any help! [link] [comments] |
Shutter button opens google now Posted: 15 Dec 2016 10:12 AM PST I've got a shutter button that is wired through the headphone jack. When I try to use it it pulls up google now for a voice search. I've looked in the settings for both the camera app and google now and can find no option to change this. Any suggestions? Everything I've tried to research for it myself is people remapping bluetooth to use google now and looking into the steps for it, it does nothing for my situation. Edit: Nexus 6, android 6.0.1 Edit2: I've continued looking into it to no avail. It seems that google now has an option for this, but all it does is not allow it to enable voice while the screen is locked. I still can't rebind the button to be a shutter and I can't use it with the lock screen camera either. [link] [comments] |
Thinking of buying the Moto g4+, any better recommendations in the $250 price range? Posted: 15 Dec 2016 06:30 AM PST my 3 year old nexus 4 is still kicking but its tough keeping up with the battery. Country: US, carrier: T mobile, budget: around $250, uses: hardly ever game, just reddit and spotify. Just want solid battery life. LTE is a plus as is a good GPS since i just moved to a new area. Wifi calling would be cool too but i know the Moto g4 plus supposedly doesn't support that. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Dec 2016 01:47 PM PST I messed around in the settings and now my phone is locked, is there a way to unlock it with gmail, does the factory reset through gmail remove the passcode? The phone is samsung Galaxy S7 edge. [link] [comments] |
PLEASE HELP-android wifi issue Posted: 15 Dec 2016 06:30 AM PST Hey, so. I have a Droid Moto Z, android version 7.0, it's only a few months old, I got it in September. The day I brought it home, I was having some wifi issues but a friend told me to use the WPS button, so I did. And it was a temporary fix, but it worked, even if I still had to go back and do it every so often. But now, it will not stay connected at all. It's not the WiFi itself because my laptop is working fine. Yes, I have restarted the phone, the WiFi, I have "forgotten the network" and tried again. But it will not stay connected. I will push the WPS button, it will connect, and 1-10 seconds later it will disconnect again. It constantly says there's an "Authentication Error", which is why it won't let me connect just using the password even though I checked the password is correct. But now it won't stay connected even using the WPS button. PLEASE help, this is incredibly frustrating and I don't know what to do. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Dec 2016 10:50 AM PST Anybody have any recommendations for an Android emulator that would work well with an Windows 10 tablet? I would prefer something better for touchscreen. I have looked around and the only that seems interesting is AMIDUOS. Also, is there a reason why these emulators don't support 7.0? [link] [comments] |
Secure method for using iphone emojis on Nougat 7.1.1? Posted: 15 Dec 2016 06:57 AM PST Is there currently a method for converting the android emoji keyboard to the one that iphones use? If anyone knows how to do this ideally without requiring a root please share, thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Dec 2016 09:03 AM PST What's the best way to automatically refresh the media gallery besides restarting your phone? I'm on a Nexus 6P, ideally I would like to figure out how to do this on Tasker...but no luck so far. [link] [comments] |

Cannot get rid of Fullscreen Media malware/adware despite factory reset. Rooted? Posted: 15 Dec 2016 04:18 AM PST Phone: LG Escape 3 I have no idea which app I installed led to this Fullscreen Media app getting rooted into my phone. Despite doing a factory reset the app is still there. There is NO uninstall option, only an option to disable the ads. I really don't know what to do at this point. I'm not tech-savvy, so if someone can help me and maybe explain it as simply as possible, that would be great! [link] [comments] |

What does the bass boost in Google Play Music and lots of other equalizer apps actually do? Posted: 15 Dec 2016 04:12 PM PST Hi there, I've noticed on Android, many equalizer apps and music players come with a simple equalizer and a bass boost slider. This often also has a surround slider but that isn't important to me. This bass boost slider boosts the thumpy bass of songs but doesn't affect the overall sound level of the highs and doesn't make the song sound muddy or something. I've tried emulating this with a graphic equalizer on Windows or other operating systems, but I haven't been able to do this. Does anyone know what this bass slider actually does? So I can recreate it on other devices as well. [link] [comments] |

[PROBLEM] Granting SD memory access doesn't work Posted: 15 Dec 2016 03:30 AM PST Hello r/androidquestions I have to grant access to my SD card for apps like Piktures multiple times in the week. Is this normal? How can I fix it, so I can delete images from Piktures which are saved in my external storage and allow apps like SD Maid to clean my phone without repeating those steps? I have a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime with Android 5.1.1, non rooted. [link] [comments] |
Proud Android user here: Does anyone have a clever gift idea for an iPhone lover? Posted: 15 Dec 2016 12:01 PM PST For secret Santa (well, were Jewish, so technically it's Hanukkah themed, but same idea) I picked someone that I always jokingly put down for using iPhone. Does anyone have any clever ideas, related to teasing iPhone, around $25 and is possibly useful, that I could give to him? [link] [comments] |
