[DEV] Android VPN focusing on simplified user experience and minimal cost Posted: 23 Dec 2016 02:58 AM PST Technically it's not really a new app. The initial version was launched in Aug 2016. But I have done lots of optimisations on both GUI and TCP part recently. Therefore it will be really helpful to collect more feedback: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=c.justproxy A few philosophies:
Please let me know what you think. New install will get 1 hour free usage. Let me know if that's not enough. Thanks and merry christmas! [link] [comments] |
[DEV] 50% off Hermit, and free promo codes on Facebook Posted: 22 Dec 2016 06:13 PM PST Happy Everything to all of you, and while you're celebrating the holidays with family and friends, treat them to a faster, snappier phone — without actually buying a new phone. Get them Hermit, for free or at a steep discount, only for the next few days. And get it now, because we don't have any upcoming sales planned early next year, but we do have a bunch of awesome new features coming soon. https://fb.com/hermitapp ← where we announced new promo codes this time (the last few times were all Reddit exclusives; this time we decided to switch things around) What's Hermit? Check it out for yourself! https://hermit.chimbori.com tl;dr: It's a web browser that can create wrapper apps ("Lite Apps") for any web site, and then lets you customize each Lite App in a lot of different ways. It's got an ad blocker built in, and Lite Apps integrate deeply with the rest of Android, so you can share from any app to, say, Facebook or Twitter directly, get notified of new content via RSS feeds, and save on battery at the same time. It's hard to describe, so just download it and try it. It's free to download and free to use forever for up to two Lite Apps, with a Premium upgrade for unlimited Lite Apps. [link] [comments] |
Can we get a stickied thread with sales/deals going on for the holidays? Posted: 23 Dec 2016 09:55 AM PST I'm noticing a lot of Christmas or new years sales. A large list of them in one place would be useful. [link] [comments] |
[FREE GAME]Shooty Star. Now on Google Play. Posted: 23 Dec 2016 01:58 AM PST Hi guys. i a solo developer and i made this game for android. i am looking for people to test and give me feedback. thank you for your time. here's a link for those who are interested: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.LumosGames.Microcosm [link] [comments] |
Facebook Messegner vS lite Version? Posted: 23 Dec 2016 02:34 AM PST Hello! So unfortunately I'm forced to use facebook messenger, because everyone in my network does so. This night I discovered the app is causing way to many wakelocks during a night (and day for that matter).. So my question is how messenger lite compares to this? Is there better alternatives to the STANDALONE app? I don't want an entire facebook app, just messenger? Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 23 Dec 2016 04:43 AM PST https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.puandr.boost The positive reviews seem almost fake, clamoring about incredible performance and battery life boosts. The few negative reviews mention it messed with their SD storage size (wut) or internet connection. Most importantly though, the developer uses the ;) smiley obnoxiously everywhere. And who the fuck replies to a legit question with this? Could anyone knowledgeable give their input on the app? And wait, do our phones have SSDs? [link] [comments] |
Customizing my phone's home screen Posted: 23 Dec 2016 02:16 AM PST Hello there. I have two rather simple questions ;
There is an actual SAO launcher by the way, but with very little room for customization, and I'd ideally want that taskbar to only appear whenever I swipe and not all the time Thank you for the upcoming answers! :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 23 Dec 2016 08:42 AM PST Having 4 and counting remotes now, is there an IR Blaster app that will let me build my own remote so that I can control everything from one screen? So for example my screen would have 4 power buttons, each one programmed to handle a different device. [link] [comments] |

[Dev] Neighbourhood - Nearby Places, Wifi, Messages & more... Posted: 23 Dec 2016 09:51 AM PST The main purpose of creating this app is to create a location based search engine. Today we know everything about what is happening around the world but we have little knowledge to our own neighbourhood. When we plan to go somewhere we have many apps to helps us reach there but after that we know nothing of what to do. Currently the app is in initial stage and i am adding new things regularly. Play Store Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fiktivo.neighbourhood Currently it has nearby restaurants, wifi, messages, atms and many more things. Let me know what you think and how can i improve it. Any sort of feedback is appreciated. [link] [comments] |
EQ App that automatically adjusts based on what frequencies you can hear? Posted: 22 Dec 2016 10:09 PM PST I bought a galaxy s6, but had to return it. Now I have a Moto z, and while I like it better overall there's one thing I'm missing. The galaxy s6 had an equalizer that would play different frequency tones, and would adjust sound levels based on what you could and couldn't hear. It was the best experience I ever had with an EQ, and I'm wondering if there is an app that provides this same functionality? [link] [comments] |
Google Chrome with YouTube play in background Posted: 22 Dec 2016 11:42 PM PST Hey all, Just a week or so ago, I switched from iOS on iPhone to Android on my new Galaxy S7 Edge. I cannot express how happy I am with the switch. I do have one quibble, however- on my iPhone, I could turn off the screen and have the option to hit the play button on the lock screen to continue playing whatever YT video I had on Safari or on the YouTube app. On the Galaxy, this doesn't work with the Chrome or YouTube app. I use Firefox as my browser in order to do so, but I much prefer Chrome as a browser. I saw that in September, Chrome Beta (v. 54, I think) allowed YT to play in the background, but when I downloaded Chrome Beta and turned the screen off, it didn't work. Did Chrome drop the feature? Is there an extension I could use to gain the feature? Alternatively, is there a browser that rivals Chrome's speed and quality which retains the ability to play YT in the background. Firefox ranks among the lowest of the popular Android browsers on most metrics except for this one, and I'd really like to switch. Thanks all! [link] [comments] |

Recommendations for Full-functioned non-material RSS and Twitter apps? Posted: 23 Dec 2016 08:06 AM PST Hey guys, I'm looking for a new RSS reader and a new Twitter app. I'm currently using greader and Tweetcaster - broadly I'm a little tired of each of them but I've a couple of specific annoyances with both. Namely greader makes it quite hard to mass select stories you're not interested in and mark them as read - so if I've a long feed it'll take a long while to sort out the stories I'm interested in from the rest. If the RSS feed is for, say, a newspaper this gets frustrating. I also find its search function unreliable. With Tweetcaster I get irritated at it losing my place, particularly if I'm in a list, when switching to or from the app - or in or out of inline reading mode. It also can't do Twitter polls but I gather that's an API thing and hard to get around. So what full-funtioned alternatives would you guys recommend? UI wise I want something information dense, so no cards format or anything like that. I also have a pretty strong aversion to material design - I really hate it most of the time. So, obviously I'd strongly prefer non-MD apps - it can be done well but ... well, usually isn't. Cheers guys! :) [link] [comments] |
Camera manually focus? Is it possible? Posted: 23 Dec 2016 04:08 AM PST I'm trying to take some close up picture of small items that has a lot of details. It won't focus properly and the solution for me was to back up my camera and manually zoom in. For some reason, it will focus that way but as I have zoomed in, the quality of the picture is not optimal. Is there a way where I can manually focus? I have tried "Open Camera" app, but it's not exactly manual, just different presets. I kinda want to manually focus like I would manually zoom in. Edit: I got a Nexus 5X [link] [comments] |

[DEV] [Open source] Yet another calculator app, focused on expressions Posted: 22 Dec 2016 02:42 PM PST Here is my first application, completely free and open source. This is an expression solver with support to variables and functions (both built-in and user defined). You can get ExprEval here on F-Droid. Let me know what you think! EDIT - here is source code: app and java expression library [link] [comments] |
Posted: 22 Dec 2016 04:26 PM PST Trying to decide on a purchase. Been using Relay. Downloaded Sync and seems very similar. What are the distinguishing factors between the two? When I use one or the other, I often forget which one I am using as they seem very similar. [link] [comments] |

[DEV] moodCast - track your mood on social media with artificial intelligence Posted: 22 Dec 2016 11:09 PM PST Hi all, I am the developer of Journey. After months of hard work, I am ready to unveil my latest creation, MoodCast. MoodCast is a mood tracker that reads and predicts your mood based on texts using Artificial Intelligence.
