Are there any tethering apps that allow clients to connect to my device via WPS? Posted: 21 Dec 2016 11:33 AM PST Hi all, as the question states, I'm looking for an app that allows clients to connect to my device via WPS. My co-workers are trying to demo a product that requires constant connection to our cloud at a trade show. The product in question needs to be paired with a router first, either through a hardwired ethernet connection or by pairing via WPS. Looking for an app with these search terms on the Play Store or on Google is a nightmare, as you can imagine. I know how insecure it is, yada yada... It just needs to work for about 10 minutes. Any good "To Do-list app" recommendations? Posted: 21 Dec 2016 10:33 AM PST Sorry for the bad title, but I'm looking for a simple app that can basically serve as a virtuall To Do-list. I should be able to list a bunch of tasks that are important for me to get done in the coming weeks and also set reminders for their deadlines. The standard Agenda or 'Notes' apps don't seem to work for me for this kind of stuff. I guess what could of work is a kind of hybrid between those to. Any advice is greatly appreciated! (I have an LG G4 btw) [link] [comments] |

Posted: 21 Dec 2016 01:00 PM PST Usually I'd go to themes and then select the option to upload an image as the background and tweak transparency, but that's gone. Only the boring color schemes remain. Is it just me or has everyone lost that option? Samsung grand prime (g530-a) Android 5.1.1 Gboard fully updated [link] [comments] |
Creating a vehicle tracking device with a cheap android phone - what are the options Posted: 21 Dec 2016 12:58 PM PST I have two Android phones, my HTC M8 daily driver and a cheap Moto G that I'm going to stick in my vehicle, tucked away from prying eyes. The Moto g will allow me to track if my car is stolen, and the better I can hide the phone, the less likely thieves are going to find it and throw it out of the window before making off with my car. Therein lies the problem, I need some sort of way to let the phone know I've left the car and it should 'arm' itself, and send me a text if the car moves. Ideally, I'd be using the accelerometer too to see if the car is shaken at all so it'd alert me someone's messing with it. Because the phone is to be well hidden, I don't want to have to 'arm' the alarm by pressing something on the moto g. I want it to automatically detect I am in the car, either by syncing with my current htc m8, or maybe an RFID keyring or a bluetooth beacon or something. Any ideas on how to do this? My last resort is writing an android app of my own. I have looked into automation with IFTTT but you have to predetermine the location that the car moves out of, it won't just automatically pick the spot it's parked in and alert you if you move from there. I am looking for something as minimal effort as possible because human nature is what it is and you'll forget to go through the 10 step process to arm it that one time the car's stolen. Any advice? Apps I should look at? Bluetooth/RFID beacons/keyrings? [link] [comments] |

Google Calendar Goals - Support for Multiple Calendars Posted: 21 Dec 2016 09:04 AM PST So I have read some old posts about Goals in Google Calendar and how it does not support multiple calendars, only one. Is this still the case, or have I just not found the magical setting which will avoid goals scheduling my reading time in the middle of my work Christmas party just because it is in my work calendar and not standard calendar? Help! Tried to hide a folder and it deleted contents? Posted: 21 Dec 2016 08:56 AM PST So I wanted to move some pictures that I had of me and my gf to a single folder and if I could, I wanted to hide the folder aswell. I downloaded "ES File Explorer File Manager" and created the folder I wanted. I moved all the photos there and then I hit options on the folder and selected "hide". At first I couldn't find it at all but managed to find an option that said "hidden files" so I clicked it and there it was with the options "restore" and "open" so I clicked "restore" and the folder was back. But with no pictures... Please help me there were a lot of pictures and they meant a lot to me. I have a OnePlus 3 , Android version 6.0.1. [link] [comments] |
Rooted Nexus 4 keeps getting "No APN found on device" popup Posted: 21 Dec 2016 08:48 AM PST I have an LG Nexus 4 on stock 5.1.1 (Build LMY48T) that frequently (somewhat randomly) keeps popping up a small window saying "No APN found on device".. The phone is being used on Ting's GSM offering (Tmobile's network) and there most certainly is an APN entered by me, as directed by Ting support, containing the following Name=Ting Data APN=wholesale APN type=default, admin, fota, mms, supl, hipri, internet, dun APN Protocol=IPv6 APN roaming protocol=IPv6 All other entries are blank/nothing entered When I bought the phone, there were several other APNs listed, and after this popup started happening (its been going on off/on for quite a while), Ting support suggested I remove all but the Ting Data APN. Which didn't fix it.. At all times, I get perfectly normal 3G (Thats my only bitch about this Nexus 4.. No 4G) connections.. Any ideas?? [link] [comments] |

Disabling Android Hidden (Pulldown) Menu Posted: 21 Dec 2016 02:21 PM PST My company has recently outfitted our warehouse staff with Seuic AutoID9's, running Android 5.1.1, as a handheld computer. We've locked these devices down pretty well with a password protected Mobile Butler, but there is still a workaround to get to the main desktop through the pull-down hidden menu. Is there a way to disable that menu, or lock it somehow? I can't find any information from Seuic, or off of Google. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
