Why do Play Store ratings disappear? Posted: 20 Dec 2016 11:54 AM PST Hi fellow Andoid junkies, Why do the number of ratings for an app on Play Store mysteriously decrease? I have one app that had a mighty 20 ratings last week. On Monday it was 19 and today it is 18. The number of reviews didn't change. Is the decrease due to deleted Google accounts? If so, why should a rating placed in good faith when the account was alive be removed if it is deleted? The person still played the game and rated it, so surely the rating should stand. Or is there some other secret Illuminati plot working against me? Thanks - code on fearless 'droiders, code on. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Dec 2016 03:38 PM PST I got a notice today from the Play Store that I needed to implement a privacy policy for one of my apps in beta. I went to look what it takes for a privacy policy and it looks like a load of legal language and information that I am not comfortable typing alone as an indie app developer at this time and would rather not pay someone to type up the legal language for me. In an ideal world, there would be a free privacy policy generator for someone like me so I could get in compliance. Having said this, I am interested in how other redditors that are not large stay in compliance or if they find it tricky writing the privacy policy. [link] [comments] |
What APIs would I need to use to display stereoscopic photographs? Posted: 20 Dec 2016 03:59 PM PST I am hoping to create an app that is capable of displaying stereoscopic (3D) photographs on a glasses-free 3D tablet (the Freevi Flightdeck specifically). Googling combinations of "android", "api", "stereoscopic", and "3d" seems to point me to VR-glasses/Cardboard stuff, which is a slightly different ballgame. Where should I start? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 20 Dec 2016 05:55 AM PST There are many methods including the classic confirmation email to throw off people trying for a stunt or fake information, but even that won't stop unruly users from performing bad intentions. So i was thinking about some ways to cut them down before they can even reach within the application and perform their acts. After some thinking, i start to believe that we cannot stop them but we can wear them down with account authentications, it all boils down to the community within to report bad behaviours and server side to perform regular checks. So i want to hear from you guys, what are some of your ways to better your app! Let's discuss :) [link] [comments] |

App's search position in Play Store went down suddenly Posted: 20 Dec 2016 04:43 AM PST My app on google play store was doing fairly good and when searched for the app name(app name is very very common, yet) my app came in top ten results. Now suddenly, for the same search terms it goes down to 40-50th position. I've read a lot about using better keywords, getting more reviews and all but its a loop. To get more reviews and ratings, I need more installs, for more installs, I need the app to be at better position in search and for that to happen, I need more ratings and more installs. It's all stuck and I have no idea what to do. The app rating is not bad as of now, and I am not spending any money on marketing or so. And I don't want to spend either. Help and advice on what to do. Is there a way to schedule for unpublishing an app in the Play Store? Posted: 20 Dec 2016 01:24 AM PST Hi, I got a customer that shuts down his services and, ofc, wants his app out of the Play Store. I know how to unpublish it, the question is, can I unpublish it automatically on a set datetime? [link] [comments] |
I have an idea for simple app, that might help me/others alot Posted: 20 Dec 2016 01:43 AM PST Hey guys So i was thinking about an App that is really simple (i hope) to develop, and might be very popular among lots of people So it goes like this - every time one's unlocks his phone for a use, there is a stopwatch that's starts counting the time the phone is being used, when the screen is locked again.the timer stops I find this simple feature important to show everyone how much time they are spending every day against a screen.. It might make people aware about how much time they are killing.. And will try to reduce this waste. Sorry for my bad grammar. AND if something like this exists anywhere. Please let me know!!
