Posted: 14 Dec 2016 11:12 AM PST I was in a car accident yesterday, minor fender bender, and the police weren't called. Not my fault, but it's starting to look like I may have to prove my case(should of called the cops) Anyways, I was looking at my Google timeline, which shows where I was stopped after the accident. I know Google is rolling out speedometer to google maps, and I was wondering, since the technology is there, maybe the stats of my speed are stored somewhere in the Google abyss. I have location enabled, but I was not in navigation. This is one opportunity where "big brother" could actually help me. [link] [comments] |
How do I get more space on my LG for apps? Posted: 14 Dec 2016 11:46 AM PST I got a LGx7 and there's no SD card slot. WTF? This thing dosent have jack for space on internal storage. Is there anyway I can get more space [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Dec 2016 10:49 AM PST I was just sitting in my car listening to the radio and browsing on my phone when it randomly vibrated once and let out three high pitched beeps that sounded like a smoke detector. Would anybody know the cause of this? [link] [comments] |
stop an app from going to sleep when locking the screen. Posted: 14 Dec 2016 11:23 AM PST Hi guys, I need the app "whatsapp" to keep running even when the screen is locked. I disabled doze but still it goes to sleep. I guess I can achieve that with Tasker but it's just too complicated for me. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Dec 2016 01:52 AM PST Hey guys, As the title says, I bought a new S6 from Gumtree yesterday and the phone box was sealed by a security seal and went through the first time setup when I turned it on. After about a day of use I got a notification from the Samsung Plus app telling me my device is rooted and the app Root Checker confirmed it. Should I be worried and should I unroot it (even though my plan was to eventually root it but now I'm concerned)?. Also, are there any checks I can do to see if everything is okay and there hasn't been a security breach of some sort? Thanks so much! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Dec 2016 10:55 AM PST Quick question (I already posted this in r/LGG4 to no avail). My LG G4 is bootlooping. I'm sending it to AT&T and performed factory reset by pressing the physical button combination. Is the factory reset still effective? I have no way of knowing if my data has been wiped since I can't start the phone past the LG logo screen. P.S. I have been able to boot past the carrier logo a few times and it showed that 150 apps were being optimized. Is that proof enough that it worked? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Dec 2016 09:34 AM PST I have to get a new plan today. I have a fully paid off gs6 from Verizon. I could either change plans and go to a different company and need a new phone, or get a new plan with same phone. If I stay though I really want this new moto z Force. The camera attachment has 40z zoom. I wouldn't upgrade the s6 to an s7 I don't think, but the battery on my s6 blows. I have to charge it three times a day at minimum. Should I get moto z Force? Or did I miss something where it isn't worth 240? [link] [comments] |
Should I get a new phone now or wait until 2017? Posted: 14 Dec 2016 08:56 AM PST So I have saved up a lot of money recently (~900$) and I am planning on getting a new phone, now I don't want it to cost too much (Too much for me is ~700) and really I don't know if I should get a new phone now (Like the OnePlus 3T). As of right now I think it looks like there is a lot that will happen to Android Smartphones next year. Would you buy a new phone now, or wait until next year? (I'm currently using a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Dec 2016 06:20 AM PST This problem won't just be for android but I think posting here is the most relevant place. I have a galaxy note 3. I have a ps4. I used the micro usb that came with the ps4 on my phone and it charges it so much faster. I have become so reliant on this usb that I have broken it from overuse. I really need another micro usb that will be just as fast as that one. It was nothing but the cable that made it faster. It charged faster than multiple normal micro USB's, ones that were bought cheaply online, ones that came with phones, even some that came with different products. It was also used with about 7 different smartphones from people who have come over and we're amazed by its speed. (We even fought over it at times... It was that special!) I can get a used PS4 micro usb's but I want to know how I can define which micro usb will charge this fast. Are there any specs that determine how fast it will be? And finally can you recommend a brand new micro usb cable that will be just as fast? Thank you so much!!!! [link] [comments] |
Checking if phone got infected through MMS Posted: 14 Dec 2016 12:14 PM PST Hi, I'm wondering how to check if anything suspicious was installed through an MMS. I received a blank 8s long MMS from a person which could be malicious and I accidentally opened it. I ran avast but it didn't detect anything. What are my other options? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Dec 2016 02:44 PM PST I bought a new Axon 7 about 2 weeks ago, and noticed today that when I watch a YouTube video on my computer, the sound of the video is played through my computer AND somehow my android... Pausing the video my computer stops the sound on the phone. There is no persistent notification or anything otherwise on my phone that would explain things. I'm not casting anything, and just looking at a YouTube video normally, expecting it to come out of my computer speakers. However, if I close all recent apps on my phone (there is a "Clear all" button in recent apps), the sound syncing stops. Then a while later, starts again. Tried opening YouTube or Play Store to see if that triggers anything, but that didn't work either. [link] [comments] |
Can't get Exchange calendar and contacts to sync Posted: 14 Dec 2016 02:30 PM PST Hello, I just got a Pixel XL, switching from an iPhone where my work Exchange account more or less worked flawlessly. I set up the Exchange account in the Gmail app, selected to sync mail, contacts and calendars, and mail seems to be syncing alright, but contacts and calendars are not. In fact, in the Calendars app, when I open that side menu to select a calendar, the Exchange calendar doesn't even show up. It shows up as an option in Contacts, but no contacts are actually synced. If I check the account settings, the last synced time was just a few minutes ago, no errors were reported. Any ideas on what could be wrong? [link] [comments] |
Find out where wallpaper app fetches it's images from? Posted: 14 Dec 2016 08:28 AM PST Hi I have a wallpaper app. I would love to download all the images of the app. For obvious reasons, the app itself doesn't have any option like that, so my idea was to decompile the apk and search for a link or something similar to find out where the app fetches the images from and paste them in some Kind of downloader app. Now, i have the decompiled apk but i have no idea what exactly or where to look/search. Is what i'm trying to do even possible? Let me know if you Need the decompiled apk. I'll upload it. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Dec 2016 02:04 PM PST Hello people. I just received my first android device, a Huawei, and I have zero experience with android and with any kind of smartphone. Any pro tips or must have apps? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Dec 2016 10:10 AM PST There's a crack that runs over the sensor, and I'm almost sure that's causing the issue. When I make a call, the phone screen turns off as if the proximity sensor is engaged, which makes it impossible to use the controls during a call. I'd like to disable the sensor so that I can access the onscreen controls. I'm rooted, and I would't mind editing some system files. I'd rather find a native solution rather than having another app running in the background, if possible. Running 6.0.1 Marshmallow, CyanogenMod 13 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Dec 2016 06:18 AM PST As the title states, I recently performed a factory reset on my Verizon LG G4 running Marshmallow 6.0. I had Google backup enabled on my phone, but when I went to setup my phone for first use after the reset, I was given no option to restore from backup.
So my question to the users of /r/Android is this, did I do something wrong when I enabled the backup on my phone or does my model or software version not support restore from backup out of the box?
Any advise would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Dec 2016 06:15 AM PST I know there are tons of services running in the background to update your location (like Fused Location Provider) I don't want them. Can I leave location on without having these services in the background? I want to have location on because of the gps tag when I take a photo or opening Sygic/Maps without the prompt to turn on location. Rooted Xperia X [link] [comments] |
[S4 Mini] Bluetooth headphone glitching when walking with phone in pocket Posted: 14 Dec 2016 10:00 AM PST Okay the Title is far from perfect, but my question is.. Is this a serious hardware issue? (Phone runs CM13.1 latest build) [link] [comments] |
Gallery apps stopped detecting a lot of folders Posted: 14 Dec 2016 01:42 PM PST Title. I can no longer get to many of the folders / albums of photos on my phone from any gallery App, even though I can perfectly access them with a file explorer. Is this a common problem? Is there any way to fix this? [link] [comments] |
Unable to send or download MMS using 3rd party apps Posted: 14 Dec 2016 06:06 AM PST I am using a Galaxy S7 on Sprint. I'm having an issue where I cannot send or download MMS on GoSMS. It works fine if I set the standard Messages app as default. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling GoSMS with no luck. I also tried installing other 3rd party messaging apps and have the same issue. Has anyone run into this issue or can anyone offer any solutions? Thanks [link] [comments] |
S7 "Moisture detected in charging port" No moisture. Posted: 14 Dec 2016 06:01 AM PST My S7 won't let me charge. When I plug it in I get the moisture detected warning. The closest it has been to water is a sink and I checked the moisture strip in the sim card slot and it says it is fine. Anyone had this issue and know how to fix it? [link] [comments] |
LG V10 charges extremely slow no matter what cable/charger I use. Posted: 14 Dec 2016 01:21 PM PST So I got an LG v10 as a replacement to a boot looped g4. The original charger broke and no longer works and the original cable is in poor condition and won't stay in the microusb port. I have other chargers and cables, but when I plug them in I get a notice of slow charging. When using the Ampere app it is only charging at around 350 mA. The charger I have is capable of 2.1 amps. For whatever reason the phone will just not pull any more juice through the cable. Is there anything I can do to fix this? It is taking forever to charge my phone. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Dec 2016 05:30 AM PST I recently joined the beta program and installed android 7.0 nougat on my galaxy s7. However, with multiple glitches and apps that wouldn't work, I tried to get back to Android Marshmallow 6.1 or whichever one it was last. The galaxy beta program was shut down and now I'm left with Android 7.0 that is all buggy. I factory reset my phone, and it still rebooted with Android 7.0. What the hell do I do now? P.S. I'm on T-Mobile in the US. [link] [comments] |
How to enable 3D scrolling app drawer in Nova launcher prime Posted: 14 Dec 2016 12:54 PM PST I can't figure out how to do this, this is the only reason i'm using the ADW launcher beta is because i can get the 3D star wars text like app drawer [link] [comments] |
Recommendation: Best current 9+ inch tablets? Posted: 14 Dec 2016 12:43 PM PST Hey, just like the title states, I'm trying to get a feel for what actual good devices are out there. I haven't bought a tablet since the Nexus 10 in like 2012, so I'm out of date. From my research, I'm guessing that the Pixel C, Tab S2, and Tab A10.1 are some of the best recent options, but are there others I'm missing or are any of these three I've mentioned not that current or just shitty?
