Alternative to iOS app "Rays". Which generates light rays from highlights in photos. Posted: 20 Sep 2016 09:41 AM PDT Does anyone know an android alternative to the iOS app called Rays, which as the title suggests, generates light rays in photos. (https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/rays/id411190058) It can be seen in this video by Sean Tucker (https://youtu.be/gRBqdA3drm8?t=7m38s) [link] [comments] |
Help me switch to Android. Lots of doubts here Posted: 20 Sep 2016 11:22 AM PDT I'm currently on an iPhone 5 64 GB, jailbroken. I need a phone with a larger screen, much more battery life and that isn't terribly expensive. My first consideration was the 6 plus, but although I do enjoy iOS, I don't think I can use an unjainbroken iPhone. Something as simple as downloading plenty of youtube videos for offline viewing is something I do often and that iOS makes it very hard for you to do if not jailbroken. I've been looking into a few phones, and these are the only ones I like so far: Nexus 6P (a bit too expensive for me, and seems rather lacking next to, say, the note 5) Note 4 - I like the sd card and removable battery, design isn't terrible. Note 5 - Really like the design. S6 edge, Note 7 and s7 edge (and +) versions - beautiful but too expensive. So, I was considering the Note 4 and 5 mostly. However, I have plenty of doubts about updates and such. How do they work? Does Samsung supply them directly? I've read that it was per-carrier but what happens if I buy the phone used originally from another network? Or if I buy the Note 5 which wasn't even ever released in my country? How does it update? Android remembers usernames used in incognito mode! Posted: 20 Sep 2016 01:12 PM PDT Title says it all. I have some usernames I only use in incognito mode, you know, for ordering Christmas gifts and stuff.. But when I go back to normal browsing and a website asks for my username/email, Android brings up some of those colorful usernames as suggestions! Is there a way to avoid this behaviour? Posted: 20 Sep 2016 03:24 AM PDT So, one day I start getting 0.01c charges (prepaid) on my phone (HTC One Mini2) and they were about 30 mins to an hour apart. It was really annoying but that night they stopped and nothing happened all night so I forgot about it. Next day I had like 2-3 charges throughout the day. Since then it's been between 1-3 charges a day. I went to my provider (MTN in Europe) and ask the guy at the counter what's wrong. I know I don't leave my data on, plus it would take more than 1c if I left it on by accident. He told me that Android phones have this issue sometimes where the data will turn on for a split second, I won't see it happen because it's so short and I'll only get charged a cent. He said the only way to get rid of this issue is to completely disable 4G from being an option. I do use it here and there to look something up so I didn't disable it just yet but if I can't figure out a solution I might just have to. What could be causing this? Could it be an app? Posted: 20 Sep 2016 04:25 PM PDT so i'm basically stuck on 4.4 because of the locked bootloader on my phone, but i have mostly managed to get by with it. but this safetynet stuff is new to me. i am rooted with Xposed and i have never used an app with such restrictions. i'm currently on superSU, but the whole CCMT thing is making me wanna switch too. Rootcloak doesn't work as many of you already know. wat do? [link] [comments] |
Anyone have/know anything about the FIGO Atrium phone? Posted: 20 Sep 2016 10:04 AM PDT Based in California, FIGO is a new, small company that I stumbled upon in my local Canada Computers. I bought the FIGO Atrium and it has been fantastic, despite a few issues in the software. If anyone else has this phone (or knows more about it than I do), let me know if (1) there are any root guides available for it, (2) any way to fix the issue where trying to add widgets crashes the launcher, and (3) any work around to the backwards SD card assignment (if there is an external SD card available, it will think that is the internal one, and that the internal is now the external). Thanks in advance if you can help me, and if you haven't heard of the phone, check it out - I got it for 200 CAD tax included (unlocked obviously, and compatible with WIND) and it performs very well for the price. Oh, and it's almost completely stock android 5.1 lollipop. [link] [comments] |
S3 Neo stuck in a bootloop, need help ASAP Posted: 20 Sep 2016 03:50 PM PDT First of all i will apologize in advance if this is not the right subreddit for this kind of posts, i will remove it if it does not pertain. My Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo got stuck in a bootloop today. It is not the first time it happens, but the problem usually solved itself after some time, but not this one. The battery died out, and as soon as i try to charge it the bootloop will start again. I can't enter recovery mode since it keeps rebooting, and i've never rooted it or done any kind of modifies to it. I've just ordered a new phone (Huawei P9 Lite) but i won't have it very soon, so i must solve this problem ASAP. Can anybody help me? Thank you all in advance [link] [comments] |
Not enough room for nandroid restore Posted: 20 Sep 2016 03:46 PM PDT Error 255 on TWRP when trying to restore data partition. I heard it's due to lack of storage space, i need double the backup size apparently. Is there a way i can restore from pc? [link] [comments] |
Anyone had success deleting information from the Samsung Cloud? Posted: 20 Sep 2016 03:11 PM PDT I've been trying for the last 2 hours to delete information from the Samsung Cloud (Which automatically started backing up all of my pictures when I signed into my Samsung account.) I have a T-Mobile Note 7 - Samsung customer service was unable to help. I currently have everything 'un-synced' from Samsungs Cloud, but there is still 1.5gigs of stuff stored on the cloud with NO way to access or delete it. Any ideas? [link] [comments] |
Android pay does work with root? No? Posted: 20 Sep 2016 03:08 PM PDT I keep hearing that android pay doesn't work on rooted devices, however it has has been working fine for me since release in the UK on my rooted s6 with xposed. I also do not have any root hiding feature. Does it work on your rooted devices? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 20 Sep 2016 02:47 PM PDT I need a suggestion for an app that allows for repeat notifications. I use my phone as a sort of pager for work. When systems and other things are down I get paged via email to text from our alert systems. This is a 24/7 operation so if an alert kicks off in the middle of the night I need to wake up some how. When I use Textra I can set a per user/group based alert to repeat but the problem is the page gets sent out to a large group of people. Sometimes people leave or people get added to the group which changes and requires me to setup the alert configuration again to compensate for the change of users. This adds complications to the repeat notifications feature used in Textra. Are there any apps that can repeat notifications based on a single user no matter who else it's being sent to? I've tried a few apps on the market but they all seem kinda flakey. I'm open to suggestions or ideas. Right now I'm trying light flow to monitor a Gmail folder that I'm sending the alerts to but it doesn't seem to want to play nicely with Google doze stuff and my do not disturb times. I'm running a Nexus 6p with NRD90T build. [link] [comments] |
Please help me choose the right case for my new Huawei P9 in the UK Posted: 20 Sep 2016 02:20 PM PDT I just got this phone (which I love!) but I need a shield type case for it as it is slippery and my hands are big. Amazon is filled with shill/bribed reviews so I can't trust them. Apologies for clogging up the board, I don't have much money and want to choose the right case first time. Thank's for reading, I would really appreciate your help. [link] [comments] |
Background audio playback stops after couple of minutes from mynoise.net website Posted: 20 Sep 2016 02:16 PM PDT Phone:Sony Xperia M2(D2303) OS:Lolipop 5.1.1 Hello, I've been meaning to ask for quite some time now because it seems I cant solve it on my own. Whenever i visit mynoise website to block outside sound, it stops after a 2-5 minutes, and i have to unlock phone for it to resume. I tried Chrome, Speed browser(fork of Lightning browser), Gello Mod, Tuga browser, Firefox and Dolphin. Is amount of working memory the source of the problem. I read on mynoise website that it preloads the sound in a single download which it then synthesizes on its own, meaning the problem could not be in the browser. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Where are all the good reasonably sized phones? Posted: 20 Sep 2016 04:30 AM PDT I'm looking to get a new phone and it seems that oneplus 3 is the perfect phone for me. Perfect on all aspects apart from size. After the realization that oneplus 3 is probably too big to keep in my front pocket comfortably or keep in my gym shorts while lifting I looked up phones that were about as big as s7 / iphone 7. You know... the best phones on the market... the phones one would imagine people would try to emulate. Where are all the reasonably sized phones?! [link] [comments] |
Connect to wifi-button disabled on Nexus 6P Posted: 20 Sep 2016 10:25 AM PDT Just got the phone, could connect to home network normally, but on the school and work networks it wont let me click "connect" after entering the username and password. I tried restarting the phone and also forgetting the network. None of the settings seems to enable the button. Anyone have any ideas? Photo (sorry about the language, but the important bit is the disabled button): here [link] [comments] |

Such as: I say "Carbonara ingredients" and it lists the ingredients, or "mom's birthday" and say the date. My friend did it with siri and I found it neat. Any android alternatives? Posted: 20 Sep 2016 01:39 PM PDT I just got my new Xperia X Compact today after I got tired of the bad quality of the Fairphone 2 and I am loving it so far, however there are a small problem with the colors of the display. They are quite oversaturated. I have understood that amoled screens have this problem but is there any way of fixing it? I have absolutely no experience with phones other than regular usage.
