Posted: 03 Sep 2016 03:19 PM PDT I was listening to music on my lgg4 earlier today only to be interrupted by an extremely loud sound (kind of like a blaring beeping sound) coming from my lgg4, followed by a black screen. The phone won't turn on now (and I've tried multiple times to turn it on). I've also tried taking the battery out and putting it back in a couple of times as well, but to no avail. I've had the phone since October 2015 and haven't really experienced any problems with it until now, so an explanation would be amazing right about now. Thank you in advance. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 02 Sep 2016 10:21 PM PDT I don't feel bad for them, edit: Sorry didn't realize there was an sd slot. What do you think is their next move, do they gut the phones, put the chips in new enclosures and sell old phones with new plastic and glass or just toss them? [link] [comments] |
Is snapchat better on the note 7? Posted: 03 Sep 2016 03:29 PM PDT Snapchat is terrible on androids, let's be honest. BUT, since I've been hearing of all of the magic that note 7 brings to the table, I was wondering if finally the phone is fast enough to handle snapchat's terrible glitchyness. [link] [comments] |
Samsung Galaxy S6 just vibrated twice and then beeped twice. Why...? Posted: 03 Sep 2016 02:15 PM PDT I was just browsing baconreader and all of a sudden it vibrated twice and beeped twice. It was also on vibrate at the time and I didn't get notification. What gives? [link] [comments] |
Thinking of resetting my phone, questions about my Google account Posted: 03 Sep 2016 12:24 PM PDT Long story short, I want to wipe my device. (Sluggishness, bad battery life, full storage.) However, I use GAuth and 2FA on my Google account. I also have it setup to text me, and I have backup codes printed out. If it asks for me to sign in (FRP), will I be able to see the text from Google? (If backup codes are lost) Samsung Galaxy S6, MM [link] [comments] |
Did someone just trick me into activating their Google voice? Posted: 03 Sep 2016 12:20 PM PDT Here's the screen shot of the short text conversation. Should have known it was suspicious but I'm dumb. When they called and I inputted their number it said my account was verified or activated and then asked me to say my name to set up a voicemail. So uh, does anybody know what happened here, twice... Because I input a second number from the 202 Washington number that called and it verified again. I'm really dumb... [link] [comments] |
Getting one plus three. What are the best android only things I can do now? Posted: 03 Sep 2016 04:01 PM PDT Hi. Looking for 2016s best things I can now do with android that I couldn't with my iPhone? I've heard of push bullet. That's about it. It's harder than it seems to find new information on this. Thanks, [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Sep 2016 03:47 PM PDT So took awhile but I finally got it working. The only problem I seem to have now is when I use spotify and Bluetooth to my car the music will play but if I'm also using Google maps the voice doesn't tell me directions anymore. Did I mess something up or is there a fix for this? [link] [comments] |
Nexus 4 stuck on boot animation Posted: 03 Sep 2016 03:41 PM PDT Hi there, I have a completely stock Nexus 4 that's been having trouble and freezing up lately, but last night it randomly tried to restart and is now stuck on the four spinning balls boot animation. I'm very inexperienced with the behind-the-scenes for smartphones, but I've tried to wipe the cache as well as do a factory reset but am faced with the phone saying it's unable to mount or open the E: drive cache. My PC also doesn't recognize it, even when I try to install the drivers manually through device manager (error 10) Just wondering if the phone is finally dead or if there is a way to salvage it? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Is there any way to take screenshots on the Netflix app? Posted: 03 Sep 2016 03:28 PM PDT It always says: "cannot take screenshot. Prevented by privacy policy." I tried using AZ screen recorder but the video was just blacked out. Help would be very much appreciated 😊 [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Sep 2016 03:00 PM PDT My Galaxy S6 has all of a sudden lost service. I have Verizon I get maxed 2 bars of 1x service. All other Verizon devices work. I've restarted and I've done the ##4636## thing and it doesn't do anything. [link] [comments] |
Total newbie needing held after boyfriend rooted phone Posted: 03 Sep 2016 11:03 AM PDT I have a Verizon LG G2 that I have on the Straight Talk Network using the CDMA service. I began having some weird problems with the phone, my (now ex)boyfriend rooted it (currently on. system 5.0.2), solved all the problems, however I can not use any data, just Wi-Fi. When you go to add new APN settings I will let you fill in is the name of the APN, nothing else. I have no idea how to go about fixing this. Please help! Tl;dr Phone was rooted, can't add APN settings [link] [comments] |

Switching to Android after years of iPhone. Which phone? P9? Posted: 03 Sep 2016 08:14 AM PDT Hey guys. I've been using iPhones for ages now. My last Android phone was the HTC desire. Which handsets would you recommend? The Huawei P9/P9+ phones look amazing. Are they as good as they look? Also - it's very important to me that I can root/customize the phone. My Desire was rooted, and every iPhone I've had has been jailbroken. Is the P9 susceptible to this? How active is the community around this phone? Also, any advice? Thanks!! [link] [comments] |
Is there a way to sync all data and files even on the SD card? Posted: 03 Sep 2016 02:11 PM PDT I'm always on wifi so I'm not concerned about the data usage. Is there a way I can remotely sync all data on my phone? Not just contacts or Chrome history but any file or bit of data on my phone. All of my settings, my launcher icon placement, my Downloads folder, etc. What can I use for this? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Does Google stop updating Nexus devices after awhile? Posted: 03 Sep 2016 10:04 AM PDT I bought Nexus because I liked how Google updates it really fast and uses a clean Android on its devices. But now I am worried that this is not going to last for long. So, is it true that after sometime we have to root our phones and tablets and update them ourselves? [link] [comments] |
[New to Android] How do Android users utilize an external SD card?? Posted: 03 Sep 2016 09:34 AM PDT I'm new to Android and I am SO CONFUSED about how to use an external SD card. :( So, I'm a long time Arch Linux user. The only smart phones I've ever owned were the Nokia N900 (Maemo Linux) and the Jolla Mobile (Sailfish Linux). I just bought my very first Android phone, a Moto E 2015 (Surnia). I successfully unlocked it / rooted it, installed TWRP, installed CyanogenMod nightly, and installed open GApps. My problem is... I put a 32 GB external SD card in it to store my personal files, and realized I have NO IDEA what to do with it in Android. On my past phones, I just make some directories on it ("Documents", "Pictures", "Videos"...) and then copy stuff there (using the built in file manager, SSH, rsync over WiFi...) just like it was any other folder on any other computer. In Android, when first inserted the SD card, I selected to use it as "Portable Storage". But whenever I try to write to the SD card (with the CyanogenMod File Manager, logging in with SSHelper, as regular user "shell" in ADB...) I just get permission denied errors. I really don't understand the "users" in Android, and I really don't understand the permissions in Android. So my question is, how am I expected to use an external SD card in Android? I feel like I'm just trying to use it like I would in Maemo, Sailfish, or any desktop Linux, and that doing that way is just "wrong". I'm ready to learn to use it "the Android way" to keep my big pictures and videos on it, instead of using my limited phone storage. Should I keep my pictures and music and videos on the external SD card? Can I copy them there over WiFi? How can I do it? Thank you for any help! [link] [comments] |
Looking for a cheap, relatively small Android phone to act as an mp3 player. Posted: 03 Sep 2016 07:05 AM PDT The aux port on my phone is broken and it costs too much to repair it. Ideally I'm looking for a phone that has plenty of memory ≥32GB and/or a microSD slot. Large battery would be a plus but not essential. It will only be used as an mp3 player so it'll be in airplane mode all the time. [link] [comments] |
Is there anyway i can change when my home button does when i hold it in? I have the note 7. Posted: 03 Sep 2016 08:40 AM PDT Here's a picture of where it sends me. I'm using the nova launcher. Maybea different a launcher will let me? https://imgur.com/AvkCyL2 Edit: can't change the title but thats supposed to be a "what" Not a "when". [link] [comments] |
Project fi Nexus 5x to Verizon? Posted: 03 Sep 2016 12:11 PM PDT So I'm looking at the Nexus 5x project fi, is there a deactivation fee or something like that I should be aware of? I'm going to be reactive ting the phone on Verizon and would there be anything I should be aware of while going through this process? [link] [comments] |
Note 7 / other phones I should look into? Posted: 03 Sep 2016 11:49 AM PDT So. I was planning on getting this phone but seeing how it's unavailable at this moment, I am wondering if any of you guys can tell me how long Verizon will not be selling the Note 7? I am also wondering if there's another phone that is better out there anyways, like a HTC 10? I have a M8 right now and I loved it but battery issues and problems I've had with it before make me want to shy away. What do you guys think? [link] [comments] |
New to Android.. need advice on which hardware to get Posted: 03 Sep 2016 11:32 AM PDT Guys, I've had a Lumia 800, 920 (x2), 1020, 640 and recently an 830. I've done my best to support the ecosystem, even when it was clear that MS had given up on it themselves. The 830 now keeps opening the camera non stop (and taking photos and videos) I figured out that is isn't the hardware of the button having issues, and i did a hard reset and that didn't fix it either... so.. I'm moving on to Android for the time being.. but know nothing about the hardware options... In particular what would be important to me is battery life, camera and picture quality and a lack of bloatware, or at least option to delete and customize in that regard. Any suggestions would be appreciated! [link] [comments] |
Android data recovery - what to use? Posted: 03 Sep 2016 11:14 AM PDT So many junk apps or scams around. Can someone suggest one that works without root? I zipped up all my photos with ES File Explorer then deleted the photos, but when I unzip the zip, some photos are invalid. Humongous pile of bullshit lol. Non-root, internal storage (can't remove card). Samsung galaxy alpha. Edit: Just ran KingRoot. I think it worked, hard to say because I can't read Chinese. Even though I am Chinese. Worst Asian ever right :( Trying EaseUS MobiSaver for Android. Edit2: Didn't work. Trying "Undeleter" app Edit3: Didn't really find anything... sad. [link] [comments] |
