[DEV] I Made An Anonymous Rating App To Find Your Best Profile Picture [Free, No Ads] Posted: 01 Sep 2016 06:09 AM PDT I noticed I don't have a clue if people will like a particular picture of me or not.. It's very difficult to predict for your own pictures. I'm an app developer so I tried creating a solution for this problem :) The app lets you add a number of pictures and then people from all over the world can vote on certain characteristics:
The ratings come in live while people vote and it tells you the country and gender of the people who voted. The ratings are completely anonymous, it will never show your name or your picture. Hope this can help some people to find an objectively good Tinder/Facebook profile picture. It's completely free and has no ads. Would love to get some feedback and see if people would actually want to use this :) App: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.uprate.android [link] [comments]

Does anyone have a good replacement app for newsbeat? (Text-to-voice news) Posted: 01 Sep 2016 08:20 AM PDT Hey guys, I've been trying the Newsbeat app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tribune.tdv.newsplay&hl=en) on and off for about two years now, and it's been a terrible, terrible experience. When I first heard about the idea, I fell in love with it (listen to a personalized news digest over bluetooth while driving to work), but the execution from Newsbeat is just atrocious. Generally, I can get through one or maybe two news stories before the app closes itself; generally there are no errors or alert messages, the app just stops playing and disappears. I set about looking for alternative apps, but I'm having a really hard time finding any. Have any of you found a good android app that will read you the news as you drive? Thanks everyone! Posted: 01 Sep 2016 08:16 AM PDT Sorry if this is a redundant question, but there is a lot of misinformation that I'm coming to find regarding this topic and hoped that maybe this community can clear up. From what I understand, given many Google searches, is that rooting marshmallow isn't easy. The many rooting tools that are available may or may not work and if they do they may install software which isn't as beneficial as they claim. Can anyone please help me out, or lead me to a place where I can get some concrete answers? Thank you. [link] [comments]
Is there a solitaire game for android that Looks as Nice as the google version? Posted: 31 Aug 2016 10:27 PM PDT I don't know why bits of my title autocapitalized but whatever. Google's version of Solitaire (which you can play by typing "solitaire" into google) is exactly what I want, a material version of the game. Is there an equivalent in app form? [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Sep 2016 07:26 AM PDT I have a ton of folders (I have a ton of apps that I barely use, but use just enough that I can't uninstall them) and, thanks to some large widgets, and running low on free space on my pages. I also kind of want to add another folder or two (I have 10 right now) so, is there any way I could store folders inside other folders? I'd just have a folder for media, then other folders inside for music, video, etc, and similar folders-in-folders [link] [comments]

Reminders not displaying on Google Calendar alternatives Posted: 31 Aug 2016 08:05 PM PDT Hey guys I'm having some trouble with Google calendar. I installed some 3rd party apps that integrate google Calendar because I wanted to use their widgets but for some reason they don't show reminder. My reminders show up on google calendar but not the other apps that I've integrated Google calendar into (Cal, month, agenda, etc.) I've tried going to the settings and selecting what calendars to display but it doesn't give me an option for reminders. Can anyone help me out? Pictures below [link] [comments]
instagram security and privacy Posted: 31 Aug 2016 03:26 PM PDT Is Instagram as bad as Facebook (yes I know Instagram is owned by FB, but just keep reading) at monitoring what I do. Also, how good or bad is Insta at security (not sending user stats to other companies and the such)? Currently I use Hermit and have a mobile site of instagram that is sandboxed for my daily usage, is this better than using the app, or am I right in using Hermit to protect my privacy and security?
