How do they make them so cheap? Posted: 19 Sep 2016 10:55 AM PDT I have just gotten a oneplus 3, after having a 7 edge, and I am amazed at how much you get for your money. Are companies like oneplus Xiaomi profitable? Are Samsung and other companies just "overcharging" [link] [comments] |

How to clear Google Play Movies & TV recommendations? Posted: 19 Sep 2016 03:29 PM PDT I once added a free movie (that I now really hate for some reason) to my Google Play Movies & TV library and now I really, really hate it for personal reasons and deleted it from my library but it's still showing in recommendations, like there's a show or movie in the recommended for you section and it says "popular with x viewers" where x is the movie that I accidentally added to library and now really hate. Is there any possible way to clear GPM&TV recommendations? I tried sending an email to Google customer support weeks ago but still haven't received a reply, and I still keep getting even more of these extremely annoying recommendations. Sorry for posting a tech support type of post, I know it's kinda against the rules (says that other types of posts are more valued) but there isn't much else that I can do and I really really hate that movie and anything like it. Is the OnePlus X SD801 still worth buying? Posted: 19 Sep 2016 02:58 PM PDT I mean the Snapdragon 801 is pretty old, and it won't get the new android version. I'm looking for a new phone and for my budget (400$), the OPX giving me almost everything I need (AMOLED,less than 5.5", good design) but the camera is pretty bad according to the internet. and he gets warm easily. Should I buy it now? two years after the of the processor release? [link] [comments] |
Am I able to recover photos from a bricked S6? Posted: 19 Sep 2016 02:56 PM PDT My SO's galaxy s6 bricked while on the charger overnight. I'm assuming it was a soft-brick since there was no physical damage done to it while charging. Anyway, is there any way to recover data, specifically lost photos, from the phone? The phone is not rooted and is seemingly completely unresponsive to anything. She has a new phone now so we're willing to tear up the old one if needed. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 19 Sep 2016 02:25 PM PDT Just got this phone in today, checked and all bands are compatible. Popped my sim out of my S6 Edge+ and have only been able to get HSPA+ on AT&T. Never had issues connecting to LTE on my S6E+. Curious as to if anyone knows how to fix this. I have played with various apn's with no luck. This is my first post, my apologies if it is misplaced. I always look to you guys for tech support, but this one I had to post up myself. [link] [comments] |
Phone ran out of internal memory, won't boot Posted: 19 Sep 2016 09:23 AM PDT TL;DR S5 with 5.0 has 0bytes left on intenral storage and cant boot. Cannot be found on computer. Hi! I have a Samsung Galaxy s5 running android 5.0 Today I took some videos and saved them to my sd card. I immediatly uploaded them to Google Drive but they were too big. So instead I got home and wanted to transfer the files using a cable. Well I open my phone on my computer but I can't find my videos at all. I think I should restart my phone. I turn it off, wait 2 mins and attempt to turn it back on. It doesn't turn back on. While off, but has the charging symbol, my computer can't find the phone but is charging it. I then take out the battery because one of my batteries was acting funny before. After this there is nothing on the screen. Is there anything I can do? [link] [comments] |
Android System using 66% of my battery Posted: 19 Sep 2016 01:50 PM PDT I did a factory reset of my phone by noon with 98% battery and come evening everything was still good with 90% battery. However when I woke up, I saw my phone battery dissapear from 80% down to 14% with android system taking up 66%. What caused this and how to fix it? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 19 Sep 2016 01:46 PM PDT I'm and idiot and downloaded an apk for an app... now im getting ads on my home screen and in every app i open that didn't originally have them. Wanted to delete my main Google account Posted: 19 Sep 2016 01:44 PM PDT So far I've just been cleaning up my old accounts and now the last one is my main Google account. I've been trying to delete everything it's been affiliated with and I'm almost done. The only question I have now is how do I transfer my photos on this account to my new one? [link] [comments] |
Android Phones seamlessly launching OK Google from locked status with screen off Posted: 19 Sep 2016 01:33 PM PDT Hi everyone, I no longer get a work iPhone so switching back to Android (original Samsung Galaxy owner here!). I am having difficulty finding a phone with the level of responsiveness to use the Ok Google as I did with Siri. Particularly Ok Google with screen locked and off does not work even with language set to US English and Trusted Voice. This is a big win on iOS especially if I'm driving. Reading that it works for some phone and not some others, why is this so? I've tried on LG G3, LG G5, Moto X Play, Galaxy S6 to no avail. What 2015 or 2016 model phone do you have for which this feature works seamlessly/ as good as iOS? (Here's to hoping the pixel phone will solve all my issues lol) Thanks a ton!! [link] [comments] |
SMS issue using hangouts App (x-post to /r/nexus5x) Posted: 19 Sep 2016 01:14 PM PDT Im using a Nexus 5x on google Fi, with hangouts set as the default SMS app. If I use my contact list, or google gesture search, to find a contact, then try to message that contact from the message icon on their contact page, it starts a new text thread instead of adding to the current one. In the hangouts sms settings, hangouts is default SMS, and also my google account is selected as the default SMS messaging account. When I hit the SMS icon from any contact's page, it says at the top "sending as (123) 456-7890" meaning that it is NOT in fact using my google account as the default SMS messaging account. Am i missing something here? [link] [comments] |
My Bluetooth car microphone is too quiet on Andorid, but works fine with iOS. Posted: 19 Sep 2016 09:16 AM PDT I just traded my 6S in for an S7 Edge, and I noticed that whenever I use my car to make calls, people say I sound like I have poor reception and that I am hard to hear. Thing is, my reception is always full bars and 4G LTE when this happens, and if I talk to them over the phone directly then they hear me fine. On my iPhone, using the same car microphone, people heard me just fine. Is there a way to either change the Bluetooth microphone or amplify my microphone's gain? I wish there was a way to hear how I sound. I notice Google Now also struggles to hear me, while Siri did just fine. [link] [comments] |
Need help with the Rode Smartlav+ mic. Posted: 19 Sep 2016 12:57 PM PDT I have a OnePlus 3 with stock firmware, and previously an HTC One M8 with Cyanogen and both gave me the same issue. The microphone is waaaay too loud and causes serious clipping, with anything above normal speaking volume. When using the same mic on iOS, it worked perfectly. I've tried tons of apps with gain settings, but turning down the gain essentially just reduced the volume in post, so the volume is lower, but all the clipping remains. Is there any fix to this? Thanks! edit: seems to work fine on a Samsung Galaxy S7 [link] [comments] |

Posted: 19 Sep 2016 07:51 AM PDT i have a tendency to click snooze without waking up, so i have multiple alarms set every 15 mins (the fucking functionality of NOT being able to disable the snooze and disable functions is infuriating). is there an alarm app that has a way to just click 1 button to enable/disable all alarms? or some way to do this? ive tried with tasker and thats a mind fuck [link] [comments] |
How can i get ssh public key authentication on the Android console (without an app) to work? Posted: 19 Sep 2016 11:13 AM PDT Hey guys, I'm trying to set up some kind of backup system where i automatically make a backup of my phone, say every night and then rsync/scp it over to my home server. Im thinking something like have Tasker profile where one task makes a nandroid (which i think Tasker c an do?) and then another runs a bash script which copies it over to my server. If Tasker cannot do this, then i could just have rsync do some kind of differential thing i guess. Either way in order to do this i need to be able to ssh into my server using key authentication. Which i cannot seem to do. The issue seems to be permissions on the key files. Iv generated a public and private key, copied the public key into my authorized key file on my server, stored both keys in /sdcard/.ssh/ and then run ssh. Iv explicitly declared where the keys are stored yet it does not seem to be able to read them. Does anyone know how to do this? Is there a certain place i should be placing the key files? Thanks. Send data from android to raspberry pi. Posted: 19 Sep 2016 10:58 AM PDT I am trying to use the sensor data(mainly GPS, accelerometer) available from my android mobile to run a robot with raspberry pi as CPU. The thing is I want to do it by the low level way, i.e. using C/C++ for extracting the signal from android mobile. I was reading about JVM and saw that the Java source code is first compiled to a jar file and then used by JIT to convert to binary. I want to eliminate that step to make the data flow faster. So, I chose C/C++ for the same. But I am not able to find any substantial help to proceed in this endeavor. There is a NDK for programming in low level. Will that be helpful or is there any other way around. This is my first time with android and I don't want to learn Java. I have experience with C, C++. Any help is appreciated. Thank you. So will the Redmi Note 4 have a Snapdragon variant? Posted: 19 Sep 2016 10:34 AM PDT Some guy said the Redmi Note 4 won't have an international variant, and news sites are going crazy about it. Is it likely to happen, and what would be the consequences of not releasing a Snapdragon variant, knowing everyone outside China would buy this one instead? [link] [comments] |
Not getting messages from those who use Stock Android? Posted: 19 Sep 2016 08:15 AM PDT Last week when my wife would send me a group message, I would receive a kickback to just our thread that says ""Couldn't download" we have been using group messages forever. I could see the other peoples message, they could see my wifes and mine and my wife can see mine and theirs, but I couldn't get my wifes messages. I eventually had her download Google Messenger and I started getting her messages in group message again. So today I text a friend, who has stock android message app and another friend. When one of my friends replied back, it came back as the same message "Couldn't download", same situation, only came to my thread as the error. Anyone have an idea why? [link] [comments] |
Use Messenger In Desktop Without FB Account Posted: 19 Sep 2016 10:08 AM PDT Hello. I have (Facebook) Messenger linked to my phone number. I'd like the ability to chat from my Windows desktop PC, but I really don't want a Facebook account. Currently I'm using AirDroid, but it's far from ideal. [link] [comments] |
