Posted: 15 Sep 2016 08:31 AM PDT My Google Services on my Nexus 5 Marshmallow has been killing my battery for two days now. I've turned off Wi-Fi scanning, location settings are on battery saving, and I went into my account settings and unsynced app data, chrome, drive, docs, sheets, play music, keep, people details, sheets, and slides (note that this problem hasn't ever lasted this long so I don't know if it's the syncing that's the issue). The Keep Awake time under Google Services has been very high and I don't know how to stop it... A friend of mine helped me clear the cache partition but that didn't work either. Someone PLEASE help! Do you guys think Allo will be released September 22nd or October 4th? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 12:48 PM PDT Just curious what everyone thinks, and maybe I've missed some important information. (Summer ends Sept. 22nd) [link] [comments] |
Google Photos immediately crash on launch; it’s a system app Posted: 15 Sep 2016 12:16 PM PDT So I flashed a cm12.1 based rom on my redmi note 2, and used micro opengapps. So I guess that's where Photos were installed as system app. It keeps crashing on launch. Any way to fix this other than reflashing? What I've done so far was uninstall all updates and resorting data only from a titanium backup. edit: is it possible to just flash opengapps and everything come out fine? [link] [comments] |
Apps disappeared but data files remain Posted: 15 Sep 2016 08:28 AM PDT Hey there guys, I'm currently running the latest build of Sultan's CM13.0 ROM on my OnePlus One. I unrooted my phone yesterday through SuperSU and after I restarted my phone, all my apps and files were still there: nothing changed except for the fact that my phone was no longer rooted. I used my phone like normal and went to bed This morning I decided to boot into TWRP and wipe my cache, dalvik cache, and data. But after I restarted my phone, it booted up but all my apps were gone, as well as the CM theme I had installed and all the settings that I had changed. My google apps were still there but the rest have vanished. I've already checked in settings and the search function of Trebuchet, and nothing came up. So I used the file manager to look around and all my files ( pictures, videos, music) are still here, as well as the data, media, and obb folders inside of the Android folder ( /storage/emulated/0/Android/ ). So all my apps' files are still there and my phones storage wasn't wiped, so why aren't any of my apps showing up? Any help would be appreciated as I'm hesitant to redownload all my apps as it would be costly due to having to download them with my data. Thanks in advance! (P.S I was unrooting my phone to see if it would open the shop in hearthstone, but sadly the shop was still closed after I had unrooted. Could it possibly be related to that?) [link] [comments] |
Samsung S5 stuck in bootloop, Rooted with stock recovery Posted: 15 Sep 2016 08:14 AM PDT Is there any way I can recover my data? The phone boots and plays the boot animation, and after it finishes playing, it vibrates, but it hangs on the boot logo. Anyway I could get ADB or anything else to help? Is there a way I can get a copy of all the data? Thanks for any help in advance guys! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Sep 2016 03:40 PM PDT It might be my cell phone provider, idk, but I noticed it turns on the data for a split second, in order to send out the multimedia message. Why can't it be sent out like a normal sms? [link] [comments] |
Stock ROM for Nexus 5 with root? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 03:28 PM PDT Where might I find the most up to date stock ROM for the LG Nexus 5? I have been using Chroma but have some issues I am trying to track down as being OS specific or hardware. The best way to do this is with a stock ROM. [link] [comments] |
Never before seen "Sync" icon popped up on my notification bar and I can't get rid of it! Posted: 15 Sep 2016 11:38 AM PDT Phone: HTC One X (Yes, I know it's an old phone, but I haven't found a new one that I like yet) So yesterday evening after I powered up my phone again after it died, this mysterious Sync icon showed up on my notification bar. I have never seen this icon before, at least not on the left side. There is a similar, slightly larger one that pops up from time to time on the right. But it's never show up here. Opening up the notification drawer, the icon is there with a blank notification. I can't clear it. Already tried restarting. Tried turning Sync on and off, and then restarting. Tried disabling some apps that Sync, mail, weather, etc... No luck. Can someone please help me figure out what this is and how to get rid of it? EDIT: I forgot that I can long press to see "App Info". The App causing the issue is ES File Explorer. I have no idea what it is trying to "Sync" and why now, but I'm disabling the app until I can find out. Maybe someone else know the answer. [link] [comments] |
I can't download my pictures onto my phone with google photos. Posted: 15 Sep 2016 03:15 PM PDT It used to work just fine a couple weeks ago, but now, everytime I download a picture, it's just an exclamation point with an error message. Any idea why? Phone: Samsung S5 Neo [link] [comments] |
Is there an Android app that works like Adobe Character Animator? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 03:04 PM PDT Adobe's program lets you take a drawing, indicate where the eyes, mouth, etc are, and then use your webcam to "film" you and translate your motions and speech to the drawing. Given how good the cameras are on most Android phones now, it seems like I "should" be able to do this on my S7 Edge. Anything out there? A quick search through the Play Store showed only Stop Motion and traditional tools. [link] [comments] |
Spamware downloaded after last update [HTC m9] Posted: 15 Sep 2016 02:55 PM PDT So like the title says, after the last update I've noticed what seems to be spyware or spamware on my phone, which started off small, but now it pops up everytime I unlock my phone and won't close out unless I click an ad that opens in chrome. I've taken a screen shot of it here: https://imgur.com/nQp5qy5 Thanks for any help, this thing is wicked annoying! Zen [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Sep 2016 11:05 AM PDT Other than screen size, is there actually any difference between the s7 edge and normal s7? Is the edge far superior ? [link] [comments] |
Do you think I'll be able to purchase or order a Pixel XL in my time in the US? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 10:59 AM PDT Like any other branded product, it's extremely overprised in countries outside of America. From the 28th September till 6th October I'll be in New York. I've heard it should be around that time the new Pixel phones should come out. (based from leaks) Does any of you think I'll have a chance of purchasing them during my stay? LTE bands etc. should work in Denmark too. So that's not my worry. I work at an IT company that has offices in Miami where I can get it sent to. Do you think I'll be able to preorder it while I'm there and atleast get it sent to the Miami office? If so, what store do you recommend me purchasing from? [link] [comments] |

Does Chainfire's "Systemless" root still void warranty? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 07:08 AM PDT Hey guys. I'm rather new to android still, and I'm using (and loving) a new S7 Edge. I've been meaning to try root because I'm a tinkerer to the bone, but I didn't want to void my device's warranty. Researching, I found this rooting method called "systemless root" which apparently doesn't even touch the system partition and makes it easier to remove root just by factory resetting. My question is, since this method seems much less intricate, does that mean that using it wouldn't trigger whatever software counter Samsung devices have and void my warranty? Thanks! Posted: 15 Sep 2016 02:29 PM PDT I downloaded and installed the preparatory patch. After that finished and the phone restarted it pushed the ~1150MB update. That all downloaded, I tapped reboot & install and nothing happened. Now check for update says in all up to date but I am still running Android 6. I haven't had much much luck searching for this issue other than a single post over a year ago about upgrading 5 to 6, I think. Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
How can i add a timezone next to clock in the toolbar? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 02:29 PM PDT I'm a truck driver and I'm always driving through different time zones. Is there any way I can add the time zone next to the clock in the toolbar or as a widget? I have a Nexus 6. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Sep 2016 02:11 PM PDT So I was trying to get android pay to work on my rooted HTC one m8, and one suggestion was to go to supersu, disable it, add the card on Android pay, then re-enable. I did the first step, but it didn't work so I figured I'd work on it later. I go back to supersu re-enable and it tells me to reboot. I do and now I don't have root. Am I going to have to root all over again? I can give more details of necessary, anything would help. Thanks Edit: Within seconds of me closing my web browser, I checked again and apparently everything is good now. Followup question: Why would root checker give me a negative result then a positive one later? [link] [comments] |

Is Google Now bad for my battery life? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 02:02 PM PDT I don't want to limit myself with this amazing phone of mine, but I was wondering to myself how much battery power it must take. Any ideas as to if it impacts the battery a lot? [link] [comments] |
Play Store won't load list of installed apps? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 01:58 PM PDT I'm on an LG v10 running Lollipop on T-Mobile and the play store app won't load the installed apps list since yesterday. I've tried force closing and restarting my phone. [link] [comments] |
Weird behavior when sharing a link from a chrome custom tab? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 01:57 PM PDT This only seems to happen for certain sites, so far I confirmed it happens with imgur. When I open a link from Reddit is Fun I have it open as a chrome custom tab instead of its built in browser. I opened an imgur link and wanted to share the link. When I pressed share, it wanted me to choose a default app to share imgur links with every time. Has anyone else seen this? [link] [comments] |
Can Anyone Explain File Path Names On Images? Posted: 15 Sep 2016 01:38 PM PDT I need help understanding the file path names on images. Here's the scoop, I was transferring my GFs phone pics to my laptop from her LG G2 ( just got a note 7) and I see a risqué pic that was supposedly meant for me. It was dated while I was away training and not getting service. The file path says "message" which lead me to believe that it was sent while I was away. She said she was going to send it to me but deleted it instead. Can anyone here tell me if it would still have the "message" pathway if it was never sent via messages or messenger? (I will add an image when imgur let's me. ) [link] [comments] |
