[discussion] can we talk about whats important here? (/s) auto rotate sucks on every phone. Posted: 14 Sep 2016 03:49 PM PDT whos with me here? i disable it every time i first set up a phone. i watch coworkers squirm every time while its still enabled, failing every time to show a video or a picture in the correct rotation. with auto rotation enabled, and holding the phone portrait, it seems as if any slight angle or semi-rotation, it instantly rotates to landscape. "oh, shoot its the wrong mode. here, let me just rotate. .... .. ok, there it goes. finally rotated, lol sorry. let me replay that video now. since we just missed the first 6 seconds" it seems to be extra sensitive to rotate from portrait, but every single android phone ive owned (m7, g3, v10, s6, note 7) there is DEFINITELY a delay to correct yourself and rotate it in the other direction. is this something fixable? is this even noticed? it just seems like one of those "wtf" features. like trying to turn the volume down before media starts, and its default is to turn down the ringtone, then the media starts and its full blast. Ever wish reviews went more in depth on signal strength? You might be in luck. Posted: 13 Sep 2016 09:01 PM PDT I am a full time touring musician (200+ days a year). I am considering merging my profession with my love for phones. How interested would you be in a review that could go so in depth on antenna strength, as to letting you know how a phone compares vs another across the entire country? Not just in specific spots. Doing battery tests on constant road trips, and even reviewing carrier performance in depth. Would you be interested in this at all? [link] [comments] | ||

Pixel XL (assumed look based on twitter leak) Posted: 14 Sep 2016 11:30 AM PDT I took the leaked photo from twitter and oriented correctly to fit the 16:9 aspect ratio for QHD display. Then I did a simple tracing along the outlines and display area to result the assumed look (comparison). Please do note, this is just an assumption based on leak thus the real device may look slightly different. [link] [comments] |
