"Play It!" is a rip-off of another music player

Posted: 29 Aug 2016 02:12 PM PDT

In a very popular post recently someone who introduced himself as a developer offered to give away 500 promo codes for his paid music player app "play it!". The amount seemed like too much but I didn't give it much thought. I asked for a code and was given one so I checked out the app. It looked terribly familiar. I realized it's an exact copy of a music player I checked out once, named Timber.

Please compare:

Play It!

Please uninstall Play It! and report it the play store.

Apps which support Nougat's mini-apps?

Posted: 30 Aug 2016 06:09 AM PDT

I opened up an Amazon link from Gmail and it actually downloaded a small version of the application. I don't even have Amazon installed!

Which apps or services support this feature? It's pretty awesome.

[Request] Fitness App for custom workout schedules.

Posted: 30 Aug 2016 07:38 AM PDT

It might be a shot in the dark but I like the idea of having a workout that I make myself.

There are apps that tracks your running speed, time, distance, maps it, create a workout for X days a week for X weeks.

Same for Cycling, Roller blade...

Issue is that I need diversity. I don't always want to run and I don't want 43 apps to do what I want to do...

I would like to know if there is an app where you could basically put ypur weight in, say you wanna create a workout 3 days a week for 10 weeks and specify workouts.

IE: Create a new workout with name "Hoops" set activity type "Basketball" set 45 minutes and then when you create your workout schedule you put that "Hoops" workout in along with other custom workouts like "Run, Roller blade, Cycling". It will map whatever it needs to map according to the activity type.

It would randomize the activities so each week it could be different. One week "Run, cycle, Hoops" other week "Hoops, Roller blade, Cycle"

Of course I could share the crap out of the results of the workouts on FB and also get achievements cause hey, the more I gert the happier I am

Thanks :)

PS: I tried Map My Ride, S Health and that's pretty much it. If a specific version of Map My Ride exists for wha tI want please let me know.

Does this even exist? I would pay for that too!

iOS 10 to Android, what are clean looking apps that arent the google suite? Help please!

Posted: 30 Aug 2016 08:43 AM PDT

Disclaimer: have read the wikis and searched various sources. Forgive typos but typing this on this dreaded samsung keyboard.

I recently switched from an iPhone 6+ (with iOS 10 beta) to the Samsung Note 7. Physically, it's a beauty. I'm blown away by the features and processing. It's just so quick!

However, I've been having serious issues finding some clean-looking and more straight forward apps. I'm talking text messaging, calendar, email, and keyboard specifically but open to other suggestions (dialers and launchers)

I've tried all of the samsung included apps, google suite, and a few other third party alternatives. They're either way too convoluted for business purposes, look like they've been designed by Fisher price (google messenger), or just are too loaded with ads (message+)

Can anyone help me with solid recommendations? I love the idea of customization but I can't seem to find anything that looks clean enough and simply works. Thanks!

Right now using: samsung (email, keyboard, contacts dialer), google calendar amd chrome, Verizon message+, nova launcher.

What makes a theme (or app) worthy of AMOLED compatible, or "for AMOLED screens"?

Posted: 30 Aug 2016 05:51 AM PDT

Is it just pure (#000000) solid black items, bars, etc? Or is there anything more to it?

[Smart Launcher (Pro)] How to add directions into the app draw?

Posted: 30 Aug 2016 05:11 AM PDT

Hey, so I'm using Smart Launcher Pro, And have my apps sorted into categories etc. But I would like to add to the Navigation Category quick links to a few places I regularly go, like Uni, Home, Girlfriends Place.

I understand I'll probably have to use icons from an Icon Pack or Contact Pictures or something, but anyone got any ideas how I'd add the Quick Directions to the Apps Draw (I know you can put a quick link on the home screen, I want EXACTLY THAT, but in the app draw.

[request] Open app when VPN active

Posted: 30 Aug 2016 07:55 AM PDT

So basically I want my Non-root Nexus6P to open a certain app automatically whenever I turn on my VPN(FYI: I use Private Internet Access aka PIA VPN). If possible also vice versa, as in: whenever I turn off the VPN, it should close the app.

I know two apps that can do this and I got them both: Macrodroid and Tasker. But I don't know how I'd do it..

I hope some of you might be able to help me out! Any help will be much appreciated!

r/AndroidApps, I am thankful for such an amazing response with my latest app - Navbar Apps. I am giving you out some free codes for premium version. Enjoy!

Posted: 29 Aug 2016 11:26 AM PDT

One week ago I've shared with you my new app - Navbar Apps. It was free (and still is!) and all I asked was some nice feedback. And you responded so well. I am trully thankful for that, so I want to give you some free codes for "premium" version, which for now just enables option to add custom images for your boring Navigation Bar.

I have so far 50 of them, but we will see how it goes :) Please write a comment here or by PM and I will give you one - this way it will be easier for me to control which one you get.

Thanks once again.

What is the best way to program a phone to be silent at various times of the day during the week?

Posted: 30 Aug 2016 09:57 AM PDT

I have to figure out a way, using an app or native Android function, to silence my phone at certain times of the day, eg, Tuesday from 9am-12pm, then again at 5pm-7pm. I don't want to use Tasker for this.

Looking for an app... Can you help me?

Posted: 30 Aug 2016 09:18 AM PDT

I'm looking for an app or feature of an existing app that can help me cope with stress and anxiety in a specific way. The feature in question is just a pop-up/notification requiring a rating of my stress at a given time. So, perhaps every hour, a request arrives to rank my stress level between 1 and 10. Some additional features would be fine, but that's what I most need. I've come to realize that when I have a really crappy day, I make poor choices later on. I would like to try to avoid that.

Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions!

[DEV] University Budget App

Posted: 30 Aug 2016 01:32 AM PDT

Money Manager App

I made myself an app to help me budget money in my up and coming 2nd year of university. I'm looking for additional features that would further the app's usefulness.

The app's single idea is I change my balance after every credit card purchase, and I added a time stamp feature so I can see when I last changed my funds.

If it's useful to see what the app looks like, you can see screenshots of the whole app on the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mackinnoninc.poundcounter

Thanks!

Resizing of pics?

Posted: 30 Aug 2016 06:56 AM PDT

Snapseed has some really convoluted way to export a pic.

Samsung gallery doesn't have the feature at all.

My camera takes 4k pics which end up being 5megs or more, a little too much to share
