So screwed. Lost my Google Voice number. Please help. Posted: 18 May 2016 09:12 AM PDT It's my main phone number, business and personal. I was trying to transfer it from one Google account to another Google account. Can I get it back, transfer to my mobile number, or even add a message giving another number? [link] [comments] |
I need help about some worrying messages appearing in my phone Posted: 18 May 2016 11:48 AM PDT I have an LG g4, using android 6. Everything work flawlessly but at random moments, I get a couple of toast messages saying "dell_valde: user disconnected" and " compaq01 :user connected" or something like that. It's always happened while browsing the gallery but I don't know if it's a coincidence. The names that sound like computer manufacturers make me worry that I've been infected with some kind of malware or something. I'm using the official ROM and not rooted. Any idea on what app could be showing that or why it's happening? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 18 May 2016 10:02 AM PDT There's so many things on youtube/crunchyroll/netflix that are blocked for me because I'm not in America. I've tried using a vpn app but it's painfully slow, like taking an hour to load 1 minute worth of video. Or some dns server thing. But I'm not exactly smart in this area. I've tried looking for guides but they're all directed at people using vpn for privacy reasons and pc users.. Can someone please educate me in how I can do this, or link me to something that explains it please? Don't you have to pay a lot of money for the data you use? There are whole seasons and like 100s of hours of things I wanna watch.. Would that be possible? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 May 2016 01:24 PM PDT If I enable hotspot tethering (via whatever means I choose to do this- I have actually not decided what phone to buy yet), and connect multiple PC's, can I set this up in such a way that the two PC's see the phone as the default gateway and can communicate with each other using the 192.168 addresses? As an example use case, my local library has a firewall that prevents me and my friend from playing Minecraft on the LAN. So we would essentially set up our own LAN using my phone as the gateway. Posted: 18 May 2016 12:19 PM PDT The only thing I do with my phone is GPS, Pandora, internet and the occasional picture of something I need to remember. Is there any phone coming out or out already that has a long battery life is smaller then most the new phones and extremely sturdy made. [link] [comments] |
A Virus Conquered my Phone (Galaxy A5) Posted: 18 May 2016 11:52 AM PDT Whenever i try to open a site, my phone opens another fucking site called droid3go,tradeexchange and some shitty apps from Google Play Store. I scanned my phone with three different antivirus program but NOTHING is changed. In the internet, a guy said it was somekind of virus that comes with my modem. If you can help me i will be REALLY thankfull to you.. (Note: I didn't watch any kind of NFSW with my phone.) Posted: 18 May 2016 08:06 AM PDT I've recently switched from ES Explorer (because of those damned ads....) to Solid Explorer and have some questions. I have a server at home that I FTP into to transfer music/movies/what have you to and from my phone. I've managed to get this set up without issue. However, I would like to be able to make it so that when I log in with my phone I'm already in media directory. Currently when I log in I'm at root (/) then have to navigate from there. This isn't a big deal if not possible. For what it's worth, the FTP mount point (I'm using freenas) exists at /mnt/media which is where I want the phone to go by default. Secondly, when I select things to copy, I am only able to copy them to the root of the phone's memory, then have to manually move them to the artists directory. This is tedious. Is there a way I can simply go straight to where I'm going to be putting those files on the other storage to start? Any input is appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 18 May 2016 09:31 AM PDT I have an AT&T S7 edge on 6.0.1 and I remember, just after getting it, choosing to turn my volume and WiFi on when at home. Well, for irrelevant reasons, that was a bad idea and now I want to turn it off. I am not the type to make a post asking for tech support but I am finding this issue un-googleable, and I've been up and down my phone's menus looking for the option. How did I do this?! How to adjust lock screen brightness? Posted: 18 May 2016 11:17 AM PDT I use Lenovo A5000 and after I last updated my device I noticed that lock screen brightness was much lower than home screen's. It seems like the time and small buttons of camera, lock and phone cover it and the wallpaper is "behind them", so the brightness seems to be lower and the wallpaper is not as visible as it used to be/I'd like it to be. Any ideas how to fix that? I don't want to root the phone and most of the advices were about rooting or accessing settings that my phone doesn't have. And I also don't want to increase brightness on both home screen and lock screen as it's fine on home screen. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Google play hides apps from me. Posted: 18 May 2016 03:38 AM PDT When I look some apps up on Gplay they don't show up. But when I look them up through google on my browser and I find it there, it redirects me to the app's Gplay page and I can install it without problems. So if I can install apps normally through the browser why don't they show up in Gplay itself? [link] [comments] |
LG G Flex 2 Melted Charging Port Posted: 18 May 2016 02:51 PM PDT I had my G Flex 2 on the charger for about a minute yesterday and the charging port literally melted and I smelled burnt plastic. I went to a Sprint repair center today and they said they couldn't do anything to help me out since I don't have insurance with the phone. Anyways, everything works except the charging port, if I were to buy a charging port then it should properly work after replacing considering there was no damage to the motherboard, correct? Just want to be sure so I don't waste any money, I'm just a poor college student. Also, I think the Micro-USB cable I was using was faulty, perhaps made cheaply, I had it plugged into an LG wall charger. Thanks a ton for any help that you can offer. [link] [comments] |
My phone is not using internal sd card. Posted: 18 May 2016 02:45 PM PDT Hi! Unfortunately my device (Samsung galaxy s2 gt-9100) is not using internal sdcard. It only use 2Gb of internal storage (70% is system) and I cant even download more than 3-4 apps from google play because i have not enough space. Internal sd card has more than 10Gb :/. I can try to format my sd card(sdcard1) as internal storage but i dont want to if i can fix internal sd card. Im using cm13. [link] [comments] |
How are you supposed to tell Google keyboard not to autocorrect a word? Posted: 18 May 2016 02:40 PM PDT I'm trying to switch to this keyboard (from HTC's), but this one quirk is gonna be a dealbreaker unless I can find a workaround. Every other keyboard I've used shows the exact word you typed as the leftmost suggestion so you can tap that to prevent it being changed, but on Google's keyboard the only option I've found is the incredibly awkward space-backspace-space maneuver. There has to be a simpler way, right? Do Google programmers live in a world without proper nouns? [link] [comments] |

Is the Moto X 2nd gen worth buying? Posted: 18 May 2016 05:41 AM PDT i want a clean , nexus like experience for no more than 195 EUROS. Motorola's Moto X 2nd gen seems to be exactly what I need : good amount of internal storage ( but no SD ) , 1080p screen , decent battery , 2GB of RAM , latest Version of Android and of course a good CPU clocked at 2.5GhZ along with AMOLED panel. My question is : is it worth buying today? As I said , I don't want Samsung again (all my Android have been Sam so I want something different and I also want to stay away from TouchWiz). LG could be an option , but not Lenovo or chinese brands like Huwaei (don't ask why , just me :P). So . if not for the MotoX are there any other clean phones with vanilla android at this price range with similar specs that are not chinese? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Question regarding Twilight and similar apps Posted: 18 May 2016 02:15 PM PDT So, basically I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and I use Twilight to aid my sleep. My question is, is there a way for Twilight or another similar filter app, not to filter black but leave it as is? With an Amoled screen, basically when a pixel is black it isn't using any power, that's my understanding, so essentially the filtering is defeating the purpose of this. Any help is appreciated. T-Mobile Samsung Note 5 can't SMS after 6.0.1 update Posted: 18 May 2016 02:03 PM PDT This is my wife's phone, and it can't text after the update at all. I've tried while on wifi, off wifi, reset it, but the only way it works is in safe mode. Obviously I can't keep it in safe mode indefinitely, so what can I do? [link] [comments] |
Rooting and Updating My SM-G900T (Samsung Galaxy S5 T-Mobile) to 6.0.1 Posted: 18 May 2016 01:52 PM PDT Just for some background, I've had an iPhone until I switched to Android, so my knowledge about Android phones is minimal. So I got a Galaxy S5 January of 2015 when I was with T-Mobile. Switched to AT&T but kept the T-Mobile phone in December 2015. I've been trying to update my phone to 6.0.1 and just realized that I can only do that if I root my phone and install Marshmallow or something along those lines. Every tutorial talks about AT&T and Verizon phones so I'm sure if those particular rooting/update programs work on my SM-G900T. Can someone give me like a step by step walkthrough on updating my phone to 6.0.1 or whatever the most recent software update is? Thank you so much, I would really appreciate it. [link] [comments] |
How do I hide these messages from my phone provider? Posted: 18 May 2016 06:16 AM PDT This is so annoying, I don't know if this happens with providers from other countries but they keep sending these messages for promotions and if you click 'yes' by mistake they take your money right away. Image: http://s32.postimg.org/mjznxil8l/IMG_20160518_100333.jpg Is there any app or something to prevent them from sending these? I feel like this is a violation. [link] [comments] |
Can't make or receive calls on my HomTom (Doogee) HT6 with Bell Posted: 18 May 2016 01:46 PM PDT It was my understanding that this phone was compatible with the Bell Canada networks but I keep getting notices of voicemails but no calls coming through. When I try to call out it just said "Dailing" and makes no connection. Is this a network compatibility issue? Or a setting I need to change? I get data and texts with no issue. [link] [comments] |
How do I install an app under a specific Google account? Posted: 18 May 2016 01:42 PM PDT I'm trying to install an app under a specific different account that has credits. I've changed to that account in Google play right before installing, but it doesn't seem to work. When I try to make in app purchases, it directs me to the old, unwanted account How do I specify that I want to install using the second account? [link] [comments] |
