Posted: 26 May 2016 02:22 AM PDT DownUpChallenge is a lightweight fitness app specifically for people wanting to train their core muscles. It tells you when to go up and down into the rep and the in between working your core (Like "Bring Sally Up"). There's a free version and a PRO version, the pro version being £1.20/$1.50, the PRO version comes with more exercises, randomiser & statistics. Also 40% of the profits goes towards Muscular Dystrophy which is pretty cool. Website: downupchallenge.com Google Play: DownUp - Core Challenge
The app took about 340 hours all together, mostly due to me being rubbish at coding and it also being my first time playing with Android Studio. I wanted it to take a few days, it's taken a few months (on and off) and I learnt Android Studio from an awesome tutorial series by Rob Percival on Udemy (HIGHLY recommended, but find a promo on groupon or something). I had about 65 people sign up to the testing but only 30 installed it, the people who did install it gave great feedback though! I also had 1 person actually buy it which was mental being that I had loads more codes to give out.
Now that the android version is 1.0 (after any bugs) I'll be working on releasing it on the Amazon apps store (may as well) and also making a Windows Phone version, then will tackle an iOS version later down the line. Just ask if you want to know anything else about the development process or for a free code :) Thank you very much edit: Thanks again! If you could review it I would be very greatful! An app to unlock my laptop using the fingerprint scanner on my phone? Posted: 26 May 2016 05:54 AM PDT With news that upcoming versions of Mac OS X will be able to tell when a person's phone is near the computer and then use its TouchID fingerprint sensor to unlock it, is there not some way to make this a thing between android phones with fingerprint sensors and laptops running Windows? Posted: 26 May 2016 07:23 AM PDT Hey guys! I'm looking for a blueprint or design type app. Basically I want a way to start keeping my welding projects on my phone. Currently I'm drawing them out and writing dimensions on the side and taking pictures, but I just feel like there's gotta be an app out there where I can basically "draw" my plans out with dimensions. I looked on the play store but nothing really looked promising. Basically I need some sort of 3d design app. Preferably grid based for ease of use, but really ID do freehand if the app was good enough. [link] [comments]

Best hidden gem games on the Google Play store? Posted: 25 May 2016 10:21 AM PDT Hidden gem games on Google Play are always awesome. Games such as Savant: Ascent are hard to find, but when you do, you get the game and see that it is amazing. So can you guys give me any other awesome hidden gem games on the Google Play store? [QUESTION] Easiest method of moving Link2SD-used micro-SD card to larger card? Posted: 26 May 2016 05:38 AM PDT I'm running an Amazon Fire 5th Gen tablet with only 8GB of storage on (you guessed it) custom Android firmware - namely the Nexus firmware based on AOSP. Because of the small amount of internal space I have the paid version of Link2SD installed on my tablet and the majority of my apps are actually stored on my micro-SD card. This is the first device I've ever even attempted to use a program or feature to store my apps on an external memory card but with the Amazon Fire 5th gen it's almost a requirement. I have 90% of my apps stored on a 32GB micro-SD card and I would like to remove it, copy the data from it, and move it over to a brand new 128GB micro-SD card that I picked up for dirt cheap ($20 - and yes, it's real and purchased directly through Amazon...if it came from eBay I'd have run h2testw on it already). I don't have any experience moving a Link2SD card's contents over to a different sized SD card unfortunately. The card of course has two partitions, the apps partition is 12GB and ext4 and the storage partition is FAT32. I don't need to resize my ext4 partition and it can remain the same size...I'd just want to extend the storage to fill up the entire card. The problem that I'm looking at is that I plan on doing all of this directly on the tablet. I originally formatted the SD card using AParted since it was just downright simple to reformat and bada-bing, done. What I'd like to do is from a clean boot attach the new 128GB SD card to a micro-SD to USB adapter and then connect it to an OTG cable and then directly to the tablet. From this point I just need help copying the contents of the 32GB micro-SD card including all partitions and keeping the 12GB partition the exact same size (and at the beginning of the card since that's how Link2SD is already configured). Does anybody have a guide on copying a Link2SD-formatted SD card on to a larger card while keeping the apps partition the same size and expanding the FAT32 partition to the rest of the size of the card actually using the tablet itself? I wouldn't call myself a *nix nub by any means, but I'm probably somewhere between a beginner and intermediate in terms of *nix CLI usage. Of course an actual app would be of big help, but I'm thinking that it's complex enough that I might need to perform some commands from a terminal app. If there's someone that knows an easy way of doing this, I would really appreciate the info on how to go about doing it. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
What is currently the best YouTube video downloader app? Posted: 25 May 2016 10:57 PM PDT I know this has already been asked before, but there are now new apps for it. I'm choosing between this (some people chose this as the best before) and SnapTube. What do you recommend? Thanks. [link] [comments]

Any apps that legitimately help your phone find the best cell signal? Posted: 26 May 2016 08:25 AM PDT I live in a brick house, and there isn't a carrier in my area that gets good cell reception there. all the people that live in the town houses next to us have to go outside to use the phone consistently. I'm on Cricket, so they don't provide a free signal booster, and even when we had one with T-Mobile it didn't work well. My question is, does an app exist that helps your phone make sure it's on the best band for pure signal strength to make calls and text? I know my phone always tries to find LTE when it can, but I feel like maybe I'd get my texts faster and get phonecalls more reliably if it were looking for the best signal strength, rather than the fastest network speed. Does that make sense? I'm guessing nothing exists, and frankly I don't know enough about cell networks to even know if something like this would help. I'm just a desperate man looking for a way to get phonecalls from inside his house for a change. [link] [comments]
