Posted: 25 May 2016 10:25 AM PDT I left my phone at home today, and I'd like to know if there's a log or app of some sort that will tell me how many times/when my phone was unlocked by my brother who I am almost positive is reading messages that he shouldnt be reading. My phone is pattern-protected and fingerprint protected, and he's got clearance access to both forms of identity security. [link] [comments]  |

| Live "places" case. Location of wallpaper doesn't change Posted: 25 May 2016 10:37 AM PDT I was under the impression that the wallpaper that comes with the live "places" case changes with your current location. I wasn't expecting it to follow me around like google maps does, but it doesn't change at all. I installed the app at home and it did indeed show my home neighborhood. Dynamic zoom even shows my immediate neighborhood versus the entire metro area. I commuted to work and back for a few days with no background change. I just reinstalled the app at work, and now it's showing my work's neighborhood. After a quick errand across town, it again neglected to show my current location, remaining on my work neighborhood. Is it supposed to only show the neighborhood you were in when you originally installed the app? That doesn't seem right. Has anyone else encountered this problem? [link] [comments]  |

I was thinking about selling my current phone, using another one for few days/weeks and then getting new. But I have some questions that I would like to get answered before I get to do something. I want to sell Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo, now running on CM12.1 - planning to reflash it to stock. Don't tell me where to sell, because I am from small Europe country and there are local websites.
tl;dr Want to sell phone. Is encrypting, then wiping and reflashing stock everything I need? Is there any way to restore backups from rooted phone on unrooted phone? Thank you for all answers. I've been able to get by without that, but it periodically causes phantom touches that make it impossible to use. Is there any way to create a dead zone just for that specific section? | Posted: 25 May 2016 10:08 AM PDT This is a strange one I suppose. I just got an S7 edge and notice that my left thumb makes a much louder and different sound when typing than my right. This led me to tap lightly with my fingernail around the screen and it seems that 'hollow' sound only comes from the area around the left thumb press and stretches up the phone towards the top. So under the right side of the screen it feels more solid. This makes me think the glass is a bit looser or further away from the digitizer or the screen proper? Maybe a glue issue or something similar? Anyone else with an edge that can test this out on theirs and see. It's extremely annoying having that loose sound every time my ledt thumb types or I touch there. [link] [comments]  |
| New to Android- How is data calculated on the Removed Apps and users data tab? Posted: 25 May 2016 01:52 PM PDT I know what this is... it is logged data bandwidth that is from apps or users that have been removed. My question is, how is it calculated? My wife's phone shows 10.45GB (yes gigabytes) of data used on wifi in this section as of last night. Is this calculated on a daily basis or a rolling 30 day average? Not sure what apps she is removing that could have used that much data. We got our phones less than a month ago and used the ATT data transfer app in the store to transfer our camera roll and contacts from our old Iphones to the new Samsung Galaxy phones. We both removed that app about 25 days ago. Would data transferred 25 days ago still be showing up having used that much data or is it a rolling daily average meaning that each day it would drop further down the list as more apps use up more data? On the windows phone I could have specific buttons for each mail account. I may be blind in my newness to android, but I dont seem to see a similar capability nor have a few google searches returned useful results. I've posted about this issue before and it has gotten only worse. Tried to post to ASUS forums too but guess what they don't even have a category for my device so nothing serious was said. (One guy just said try reinstalling apps to internal storage which can only mean he didn't even read through my post.) Anyway I'm using a zenfone go running android 5.1 and this issue started after a firmware update that added the ability to move apps to the sd card. That's kinda nice right? After the update went through whenever I download an app from play store or update an app I can open it at first and then the app closes. After I click it's icon android says app not installed at the bottom and takes me to play store page of the app with just the uninstall button. After a couple seconds while it transfers the app to sd card I can mostly use the app. (some apps don't even work under the sd card and that was my first problem) But now I've noticed that when my phone boots up all the default apps in the sd card are defaulted. In other words the phone is running the stock launcher instead of nova, I have to give permission for nova to create and change widgets, phone asks which browser to use the first time I open a link etc. It's getting worse and I don't know what to do. | Cracked screen on Samsung S4, need help transferring files. Posted: 25 May 2016 09:56 AM PDT Today I dropped my phone and the screen cracked completely. However if I enter in my password based on where they correct keys would have been had the screen been working the phone unlocks and the screen turns bright green. Unlocking the phone also allows me to connect it to my laptop in USB mode and I have managed to transfer pretty much every photo on the phone to my laptop. However, certain video files will not transfer to my laptop because they do not show up in my phone at all despite the fact that I know that they are on my phone somewhere. For example, I have two screen recordings saved with AZRecorder, several videos I received over WhatsApp and all of my music will not show up. When I open the relevant folder it simply shows up as empty. I know that these files still exist on my phone, I listened to music and viewed a video just yesterday. I have viewed some of these videos on my laptop before (while the phone was connected). What I was hoping you could help me with is figuring out if there's a way I can get these files off of my phone before I send it in for repairs. | Gpfree00002 browser hijack. Strange aggressive pop-up when on Imgur. Posted: 25 May 2016 09:55 AM PDT Hi all, Literally all I use my phone browser for is Reddit. You know the usual clicking links to stupid pictures and so on. So i got a pop up the other day saying somethinf like gpfree0002.pw , you have a virus bla de bla install our app to fix it. It sounds like scareware to me, but im a relatively safety conscious person, and i already had my stuff backed up so i went ahead and factory reset my phone. Problem sorted I had assumed. So i turn the phone back on, and whole testing the browser, i go on Imgur and instantly the pop up appears again. Now i havent installed an app in probably well over a year. And as i said im a relatively safe person, not been looking at anything suspect on my phone (thats what a 24' pc monitor is for). So im starting to think the issue is with Imgur itself on Chrome. Has anyone else experienced this? I can browse completely fine no problem, but as soon as i go on ingur that damn pop up appears. I suppose the easy solution is just to use a reddit app, but i like going throigh the browser and id also like to be assured i have no virus. I thought it was odd a virus could survive a factory reset. Possible but very unlikely. [link] [comments]  |
| Issue with lock screen apps and automatically opening apps Posted: 25 May 2016 09:44 AM PDT I am using an Asus ZenPad running on 5.0.2. I downloaded an app called "C-Locker" which I am using as my custom lock screen. The reason I am using C-Locker is because it allows me to remove everything from my lock screen and only show the wallpaper I selected as the background. The next action I perform is done by an app called "After Unlock" which automatically opens an app after you unlock your tablet. The problem is that the program I selected to be opened after unlocking my tablet does not wait for the "C-Locker" lock screen to be opened but does it automatically. My question is if there is any way to keep my lock screen as only my wallpaper while retaining the feature of opening any app after unlocking my tablet. Rooting and purchasing apps is something I would like to avoid using. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]  |

| Samsung Note 4 and S-view window case issue Posted: 25 May 2016 09:42 AM PDT Recently my Note 4 has started showing the S-view wallpaper selection screen when the case is closed and then the main wallpaper screen when re-opened. This behavior happens every time I close the case. Tried the following: * restarting, force stop wallpaper parent process * selecting a wallpaper and then restarting Hardware/os details: * Samsung Note 4 (SM-N910W8 running Android 5.1.1) * Samsung branded Note 4 windowed case. | How do I make my mobile web browser as fast and responsive as its deaktop variant? Posted: 25 May 2016 09:38 AM PDT Web pages, no matter the browser, website, or internet connection, always load extreamly slow compared to opening the same website on my desktop. I found that on my iPad mini, web pages load a lot quicker than my phone but are still slightly slower than my laptop. I have tried browsers that have ad block, and I make sure I am on wifi. I currently use Firefox with the ublock origin add-on. I have also tried the stock browser and Google chrome. All of which load slowly. I cannot find any definitive reasons for why the mobile web browsers are always so slow, or how to fix it. My phone is a an AT&T note 4 running 5.1.1 and is encrypted. [link] [comments]  |
